Nice to see him back....to see him nice!
I personally enjoyed his stay with us, and sometimes he looked real quality. You have to disreguard the cup final in that respect though because he looked at the end of his career.
I think that cup goal against Wolves, was one of the best scored by a city player in recent years, along with Bellers` goal against Swansea, and Parkin`s goal against Norwich!
He was apparantly due another season with us (on a promise), and it was to go legal. I suspect he was paid off by PR. Anyone know what occured in that respect.
Gone on better those goals if you can.....recent years!

He had the option to take up a second season contract if he started more than 20 games in his first.

With our injured player issues at the time, Ridsdale & Jones relied on a "verbal" agreement with Jimmy that he wouldn't exercise the option if he was selected for more games than that during the run in.

In the event, he started 29 (I think) games and wanted to return the following season. When he did turn up in July for pre-season training, he was told to "go away" by the club (Ridsdale) as they would not honour the written contract.

Jimmy took it to the PFA who drove holes through Ridsdale's "verbal agreement" claim, and the matter was settled. I heard that JFH got his second season wages from the club without kicking a ball. The figure bandied about at the time was that it cost CCFC £750K.

That goal v. Wolves in the cup. Brilliant, most of us on the Bob Bank that day still have a cricked neck from the dummy to the right.
