Another one gone. Seemed a nice bloke. Used to love Bullseye and then enjoyed his cameo in Pheonix Nights. RIP.
I have been watching the repeats.. The amount of times he told the contestents to relax whilst looking nervous himself was unbelievable.. And the "let's have a look at what you would have won" should be on his epitaph..
Have you ever seen the Frank Skinner sketch about Bullseye? I'm sure Jim Bowen would have approved (can't link here as I'm at work but will do later). I was only a kid when it was on but it does feel a bit like many of our current 'celebrities' are a bit vanilla; where are the regional replacements?
I watched a one recently and two burly blokes were obviously disappointed to find some 'fashionable' clothing' hiding behind Bully. Including womens! I thought winning a range of furniture would have been bad but if it had been me i would have been furious!
Think there was also an occasion when it was going to be a scooter for a bloke in a wheelchair . They realised, and quickly swapped before the prize was revealed , but it was still something (can’t remembered what) that was totally unusable for him ! Didn’ see it happen , but remember Jim Bowen talking about it in an interview
