Should he start ahead of Bendtner at Wigan? He looks more composed when through on goal even if he isn't as good in other areas.

took his goal well and had me bouncing around the room like a mad man, but to be honest before that he did owt but let the ball bounce off his heels and fall over. bendtner is still number one choice, which is a shame because he looked poor today too, and bottled it with the chance, while knocking about on the wing for far too much of the game.

a proper striker has to be o'neill's priority, and i'd love to see noble against peterborough.

If not Wigan at least give him the cup game.

Personally I think he is more of an impact sub.

    In a word NO

Before he sent the supporters of every EPL team into ecstasy bar Citeeeeh, I thought what the, why is he on. I'll give it to him that he took his chance but he also had a golden chance to set McClean up just like Sess!

I'd rather see Ryan Noble given the chance as he seems a much harder worker from reports posted.

To be honest, I'm not really interested in a striker's all round play. For example, I think Welbeck and Gyan were both better all round players than Bent. But if I was ten minutes from the end of a Cup Final and wanted a winner, I know which of the three would put it in the net for me.

Frankly, I think Ji might have buried Bendtner's early chance today. He's got a cool head on him, for sure. I'd give Dong-won a start on Tuesday.

I'd rather see noble given chance tbh. I thought Ji looked terrible until the goal, and have never seen anything very impressive from him.. It's a shame because I thought bendtner was probably our orse player until he came off but I still think he should start ahead of Ji, with Noble coming on as an impact sub.. Still don't get why this kid isn't being given a chance!!

Think we need to let Ji and Noble crawl let alone walk before they can run.

Both need to go onloan because both are far from the finished article and need the experience then they can come back in 18months time and look to push for a first team spot IMO

    Bendtner to start on tuesday

I would like to see both Ji and Bendtner start, or at least play together at some point during the game.

Bendtner makes a better target man, but Ji seems to be a more natural finisher. Should make a good pairing imo.

Noble? Oniel will play him when he is ready. MON has said he has been struggling with strength since his back injury, and needs time to build it up. I think that we can afford to trust O'Niel on this one.

Saying he looked terrible until his goal isn't really fair imo. Bendtner looked rubbish the entire game!
Also Ji is a striker who came on the field to help defend a draw and was 40 yards from anyone of his team mates every time he got the ball.

Bendtner for me needs dropping. He looks so disinterested and gave the ball away almost every time today. Fluffed his early chance (if you think you're good enough for the champions league then you should be scoring those!) And generally looked poor. Only 2 days till next game.. lets hope we can put this "2 in a row" hoodoo to bed eh?

Can't believe I'm reading this. Bendtner was playing against a solid back 4 on his own up front while we played 5 in midfield and for me fought for every ball he had a chance to get. Ok so maybe he didn;t win everything but I thought he fought for the cause superbly today. Don't write him off too soon I think the MON touch is starting to affect all the players even those with a high opinion of themselves. Cattermole comment when interviewed was class.

Think Noble's a million miles away from starting. Built like a child.

Missed a sitter and nothing stuck to him - never found a red and white shirt whereas Sessegnon hardly missed a Sunderland shirt. All about opinions.

Bendtner the new whipping boy? Why do we have to have a whipping boy, Bendtner did his best today. Yes he does look lazy but I thought he put it in today.

It's bizzarre really, Richardson, Cattermole, Bendtner, O'Shea, this season alone have been the whipping boys.

To be perfectly fair combined they all need to pull finger a little more often. But to single one out seems a little harsh. On the other hand however, I'll support anyone whomever the Boss puts out BUT I'm never a fan of anyone who’s a card liability. Hence my annoyance of Cattermole in most games as he's a train wreck waiting to happen & let the team down. Not always his fault mind but he's got to learn bloody quickly not to allow himself to get into the situation of being given a card.

Anyone who thinks Bendtner had been good for us (other than his 1st 2 games) has been watching a different game to me. He's not a "whipping boy" but I just don't see him putting in what we need. He blatantly has ability but certainly doesn't show it enough. I was impressed by the team performance but thought, more first half, that Bendtner's play was poor. He's a forward who never busts a gut to get on the end of crosses. I call it as I see it and surely am entitled to my opinion (and also believe I'm not the only one with this opinion). He certainly wisn't "trying his hardest" today as I saw much more effort against villa, west brom and qpr than I did today. As i say this is all about opinions and I'm not looking for an argument

Exactly. I think this is the reason for the "Whipping Boy" comments. I think the TEAM is developing a back bone which is leading to some being shone up when the effort is lacking.
