South Korea beat Japan 2-0 to take the bronze medal in the men's footy. Well done to Ji, it also means that he won't have to do military service for S.Korea which is presumably a big relief to the lad!

Commentator said it was for any medal they won, he could be wrong though.

I was hoping for a gold for him, but bronze for an emerging nation will do. Bring him back full of confidence and ready to take anyone on!!

So basically if you are famous or have money, you dont have to do your duty for your country?

sounds like our polititions kids. Or our so called superstar footballers.

I think the point is they did their duty for their country, just in a different way.

    I think it's a great gesture.

It was actually a very enjoyable match, even for a 3rd/4th play off. The joy on the Korean players' faces and the despair of the Japanese players at the end was so real, almost tangible, I'd love it if Sunderland and England showed that much passion for a game.

Total bollocks. So if you dont reach the medal stage you still have to do your national service. Double standards or what.

See what you're saying and yeah maybe it's harsh on those who don't win. I just think it's a good gesture, especially for the footballers whose career it could massively disrupt.
