    This season (JFH) ... P12 W4 D4 L4 F15 A18 Pts 16

    Last Season (CR) ... P12 W4 D4 L4 F19 A 22 Pts 16

It's a mirror image results and points wise. The goal difference is also the same ( -3 ) but we scored 4 more and conceded 4 more under coach Ramsey's tenure.

The question is do you think the football is better or worse or about the same?

About the same quality I'm afraid. Only positive is I feel/believe/hope there's more potential in the squad currently assembled.

Haven't seen anything other than very brief highlights so can't really say yay or nay......

However the goals against tally this season includes the Newcastle tonking whereas last season we didn't have that sort of result, we just conceded goals on a regular basis, so dare I say it we may be slightly better defensively this season than last during the corresponding period.

I shall now go a retrieve my tin hat.......

More or less the same quality. But, as Norway says, I have reason to be more positive about the state of things this season. We seem to have the club in better order.

I actually lost it with JFH on Saturday. Obviously, we got a point. But the performance was pure ****e. It was the most clueless managerial display I've seen in a long time. I have no idea what JFH's plan actually was. I'd been willing to give him time, perhaps longer than the majority. But that was the end for me. There was no excuse for that display.

It felt good to finally have a manager who got a full Summer to train his team and purchase whatever players he wanted. But that hasn't worked out. With all of those things in his favour, JFH still hasn't managed to impress for more than the occasional good half of football.

Have always been firmly in the camp that our club needs to have a few years of consollidation and consistency. That also meant giving the right person a good shot at instilling and engraining their philosophy. For consolidation and consistency it need not read as boring and going nowhere.
Personally, was willing to give JFH full support from afar, was even willing to shell out the additional money here to see the majority of Championshit matches, including ours, and boy are they all lacking in quality.
I thought JFH would finally come round to achieving some sort of style, that for a few years we would see a development in this quality and have a few days in the sun, ready in some years later to challenge in a realistic manner once again.
I'm sorry, even though the football is crap, negative beyond belief and he is so clearly clueless in setting up a side and reading a game - I was willing to give him a chance - as long as he had the right values.

I just can't get out of my head that our club has allowed this greedy, incompetent to remain at the club. In answer to the OP, worse, simply becasue of the previous sentence. Get him out, how can anyone honestly respect this greedy imoral person?

It must have been a bit after this that Colin came in as "Advisor" and we tightened up defensively but the goals dried up too. Don't see that we are any better now, but we had more quality players a year ago. So worse really.

Voted worse as I rate attacking football more than defensive borathons. We're equal in points and goal difference, but think Ramsay actually had us playing more attractive football.

we had a little lad call Austin playing at the start of last season - he's still doing OK
and one called Phillips - we sold him for decent money

both were better than what we have now regardless of how frustrating Phillips was

After how many games was Ramsay sacked? Be interesting to see what happens if after the same no. Of games jfh is still mirroring Ramsay's points tally.

A year ago we had Austin. We had other high earners (who contributed less in terms of the results we would have achieved). Therefore this season is probably a better basis for future comparisons.

The club is better financially and more stable but I did honestly (and perhaps naively but not in a way that would benefit me to the tune of 60 grand) believe that the "return to old ways" ethos of producing our own players, developing youngsters and selling on at a profit would also encompass a style of football that would be lively and entertaining (even if it took a while to set up).

We've got the books balanced but nothing else and seem to be alienating fans and not exactly inspiring a future generation to become life-long Rs.

I want stability and time to let the full package grow (ie a financially viable club with ambition and style) but have lost faith in the manager for the simple reason of his greedy, self-serving mentality.

Better run club, worse football (by all first hand accounts) and someone I no longer respect in charge.

Four nil v Fulham away was not far off and the non-performance was on a par of the Newcastle debacle.

I suppose the costs we have suffered in wages to get our 16 points are a lot lower, so on that basis this year is surely better. They've been truly awful games to watch though.

I have been genuinely bored during most of our matches under JFH. At least Ramsey games were unpredictable. But asking which you prefer is like deciding between hanging and a firing squad.

After twelve matches the facts state the results are the same. However, I feel that the current team and the current manager (JFH) have much more "potential". The key issue can they "deliver"?

I would expect that the results improve in the next batches of 12 games.

I also have to admit that my opinion is potentially "biased" by not having had the opportunity to watch them play!

About the same, club is better off but football isn't & I've been bored watching it for past 4/5 seasons, you can count the number of decent games watched in that period on one hand, still get season ticket year after year hoping for a breath of fresh air with good attacking football.

    What was Redknapps ?

The goals we are currently conceding are worrying but Newcastle aside we are competing. Every side in this division is capable of losing heavily IMO
Cut out the supply and we will win a few more

There are at least 8 sides much better than us even if we are at the top of our game so I wouldn't fret about where we are until the new year. If the confidence cuts in then who knows

    Look at the table
