I thought I would just leave this here.

Confirmed this morning by a senior club sponsor and erstwhile TS backer that JFC triggers a pay rise after his next league performance, and is being omitted for that reason.

JFC’s dad has confirmed the same via social media.

I am massively disappointed in Ben Garner if this is the case, as he went on the record last week to flatly deny this.

It just reinforces the growing impression that Poundland Pep is a Sandgaard yes man.

Can you point us to the places where this story about Jake Forster-Caskey is being stated?
Links would be helpful, and I will try to create them in this thread if you cannot.
However, I'm not going to trawl through social media at random looking for them.

I would like to see this evidence first hand.
Until then, I am not willing to believe it.

I have seen Ben Garner's denial first hand:

    https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/ben-...ime-not-down-to-contract-appearances-trigger/

I'm not going to doubt him based on more second hand reports of what other people have supposedly said.
Character assassination by rumour is something that will not be accepted on this forum while I'm responsible for moderating it.

And I'm sorry to see you've begun using the school playground names they bandy around on ITTV.
"Poundland Pep" ? I thought you were a more thoughtful and serious commentator than that.

    PS:

Anybody else who has seen the sites/platforms where this ex-CAFC sponsor or JF-C's father have posted their statements, please feel free to put links on this thread.
Once we can all see the material, more informed judgments can be made about it.

Garner has made a big step up, telling a porky is criminal but I realise he is probably grateful to be in SE7.

I'm still not convinced Ben Garner is a liar.
It's well known that I don't rate him, but questioning a manager's ability is a totally different matter from calling him dishonest.

IF this ex-CAFC Sponsor and JF-C's father have stated on the record that Forster-Caskey is banned from playing in the league because of a pay rise clause in his contract, then they are accusing Ben Garner of being a liar.

Both the ex-sponsor and JF-C's dad are not exactly objective parties - one probably has an axe to grind and the other wants to protect his son and see him playing football. But if they are on record, then there is a direct conflict with what Ben Garner has said.
Both versions cannot be true. Somebody is lying.

Maybe I'm too old fashioned, but to me an accusation of lying is a serious matter.
But still I have not seen first hand these statements from the ex-sponsor and JF-C's father.
I have only heard about them.

Frankly I don't trust social media as a source of anything trustworthy.
It is an ocean of baseless opinions, deliberate falsehoods and rumours that get dressed up as the truth when enough people believe them.
Until I see these tweets (or posts on whatever platform they are on) with my own eyes, I'm not going to put any store by them.

    ~

Remember, there is a concerted campaign by a section of our fanbase to discredit Thomas Sandgaard and try to have him driven out of the Club by turning all fans against him. This campaign puts a negative spin on every piece of news coming out of the Club.
This sorry situation makes me more wary than ever now of believing stories.
All I'm asking for is to see the evidence.

There is so many ridiculous things in this story. Firstly, we would have known about this pay thing in his contract so why on earth would we give him another contract. If it was to try and get a few thousand for him than that was just ridiculous.

Second, we can't slate Garner for telling us the truth if this pay rise is true as the flack given after this would be immense and I doubt his employer would be too pleased.

Sadly I would determine it to be a true problem but I will not be calling for Sangaard to leave until something drastic happens.

No idea about this being true - two sides with inside info giving conflicting stories. To be frank, JFC was by all accounts off the pace when he last came out (believe it was the pizza cup, so I'm not sure if he would be that high on Garner's list anyway. There was a rumour on CL from another 'insider' a week ago that JFC's payslip doubled if he played consecutive games, which frankly sounded bizarre. This may be true - there's some weird stuff swirling around the Valley, and a lot of the Duchatalet/Meire quotes are beginning to be heard agai. There was a choice quote from TS lst week regarding Keohane bullying staff, which basically said fans wouldn't understand business, which instantly suggested we are basically a bunch of lackeys who think the interest rate is how fascinating we found whatever the rate refers to. A lot of Charlton fans work in all echelons of business so there's a lot of competence out there which TS casually slapped down. So is JFC on a contract that means we can't afford to pay him any more? Not a long shot by any means, but not a cert either, and by no means our biggest problem right now.

Will we see JF-C in the Carabao Cup game tonight?

Depends on his contract I suppose <doh>

McGrandles seems to be injured, so if JF-C doesn't make the bench we'll know why.

    Indeed.
I assume McGrandles is out for a while?

I won't be satisfied until JF-C appears in a League game.
Granted Ben Garner shouldn't usually allow fan concerns to influence who he picks for matches, but if he would just put JF-C on the bench and give him five minutes of game time in L1, that would make his claims that there is no contract clause issue a hundred times more credible.
Because at the moment, I'm afraid he looks like a liar.

Rumour doing the rounds is that JFC will be on the bench today. While I'm no happier than anyone else about seeing a player we are paying take no part in matches due to a weird clause in his contract (if that is true), it is worth pointing out his recent good performances involved coming on as sub against tier 6 Coalville when they were probably tiring, Brighton U21's and league 2 Stevenage. I'd like to see him come on today and give a great performance against Burton, as we need the three points, but lets at least keep a little perspective here.
