230 and counting (20.45 Sunday)..........and not to many in support of Jewell and Clegg http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=20018&title=jewell_slams_more_calamitous_defensive_errors
You can't blame Jewell for the stupid mistakes our defenders are making, you shouldn't need to train a 31 year old defender not to pass backwards in his own box! However, anyone could see that we were gonna be in the **** when Collins left in early December. Sonko and Ingi were not wanted by other clubs for a reason, both are past it and Sonko has always been error prone. All Jewells fault and unless he gets his finger out and does some serious business this week I've no doubt we'll end up in League One next season. On a plus note Drury and Hyam are doing well in midfield and Martin, Carson, JET and Scotland are doing well in attack. If only we had some defenders
Sven I have just read your post about 6 times and I still can't work out what your point is! You start by saying that its not Jewells fault and then you go on to say that it is! Do you want Jewell to go or not?
JWM I understand Sven's post. Its not as black and white as you alway make things out to be, some people can offer a balanced argument. What he is saying is that you cannot blame Jewell for the players mistakes, its not down to poor coaching or poor tactics that our defenders keep making mistakes, its down to the players mainly because they are simply not good enough. But you can blame Jewell for not getting in CB's over the summer.
with these over the summer arguments, ok we had the mini revival but comapred to other clubs i think were over estimating our attractiveness, ok cresswell turned out to be a good buy from the lower leagues but i think in general when you identify defenseive problems experience should be the way to go, they should have learnt how to deal with being under pressure and not make these stupid mistakes, have the youth and energy in attack where there is more room to make mistakes
