of course. and the best thing he did was the pass for the 3rd goal. If beckham or gerrard had done it, it would have been world class. Because its in Division 3 its nothing special. but I have seen it more than 5 times and I can tell you it was on a sixpence. Waggers did well to finish too. We are far too good to go down. we are going on a run - I can feel it.
'we are going on a run - I can feel it' 'I believe you could be right onwards and upwards' Let's all hope like hell you're right. The way we set up is always going to be more successful away from home. The proof will be how we play at home. We'll know a lot more after the next 5 games, 4 of which are home. SOD MUST dispense with the 2mph possession game - It relies so much on us getting the first goal. I would have sacked him weeks ago. Our useless inept Board have sat on their hands in hope. They've given SOD enough time to change his stupid system - November will give everyone the answer.
We have 5 games from 7 at home. so would expect to see great improvement or necessary action. As for JET, that was a proper hat trick too- Header, Right foot and left foot, all that stopped it being a perfect one was that all 3 goals were not concurrent. 10 goals this season for someone who has only scored 17 in 122 before. I think that we have a real diamond but do agree that it can be at the expense of being somewhat of a luxery.
It's been one win, and we're already saying that we're too good, and that we're close to a run. I'd like to think so. The Carlisle game showed us playing some good football, and finally responding to our conceding. I think we're still too shaky at the back, but I'm hoping that Louis Carey can fill that hole for a season, once he's fit again. The possession based football is the right way to go. It's slow at the moment, but it will improve, and we will get faster. If we can raise the momentum up a bit with every game, we could be a scary team to play. If this style of play is also ingrained into the academy, then we should be producing players that can fit right into the squad over the next 3-5 years.
This goes to show how desperate some fans had gotten with the side that a thread started saying JET should be dropped, it was always a barking idea. Yes, apparently he was poor at Crewe, but players like JET don't lose you those games, there are 10 others, however where as one man he can make a difference is in scoring and making goals, as he has done pretty consistently, especially given our poor run of results. We will do well to hold on to him come Jan if this win does not provide the springboard to better things we all desperately crave, we would be well in the brown stuff without him. Hopefully other managers will feel he only plays well for SOD and leave him be!
