Emmanuel-Thomas looking to improve with every game.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas hopes to be firing on all cylinders by the time the new season begins in two-and-a-half-weeks.

The attacker played 55 minutes in his first appearance for the Robins in the 1-0 defeat to Rangers on Saturday, following his arrival from Ipswich Town.

With just three pre-season friendlies remaining, Emmanuel-Thomas hopes the team will continue to improve ahead of the League One curtain-raiser against Bradford City at Ashton Gate (on August 3rd).

“It was my first game of pre-season because I didn’t play in any for Ipswich before I left,” the 22-year-old told Bristol City Player.

“The heat made a big difference. You get a good sweat on and become tired a lot quicker which makes you do that bit more running and will make you fitter."

The former Arsenal Academy graduate added: “It was good to be out there and my touch felt good. Hopefully by the time the Bradford City game comes around I will be flying.

“It was my first game with the boys, so it was a different experience for me. Hopefully in the next three games we can improve and get it right for the first game of the season.”

Sean O’Driscoll’s side will travel to The New Lawn on Saturday (July 20th, 3pm) to face Conference side Forest Green Rovers. For ticket information visit the Away Tickets section.

Well give him his due hes not shy of confidence.......... Off the field. If he plays half as good as he speaks then we got ourselves a great footballer. I cant wait to watch him play personally, He could be the goal scoring midfielder weve needed for god knows how long!

What the ell does WED mean according to people on twatter it's a London expression but none of the youngsters (teenagers) I have asked around here have a clue what it is supposed to be best suggestion I've heard so far I'm sure Shiny would appreciate.

Cardiff and Ipswich fans are not that fussed about Jet and lots don't rate him.

I'm wary of 'Types' who talk a good game yet been released from each club they've played for.
We already have one 'Worldbeater' in how good I am -
    Fuc***g Kilkenny.

    Don't want another.

I agree with you, a lot of people are pinning their hopes on him playing the way he can on SoD and I hope it's true. But all the comments from the other fans have me worried that we could have a player who just don't apply himself 100%, especially when he's playin Tranmere away on a cold day.
As my former manager said when he played for Cardiff you could see the talant but unfortunately you saw the arrogance shine through more.
In his words "hopefully he will drop the I'm premiership material attitude and he could become a good signing for us" hopefully this happens.

This guy bothers me in that he always talks a good one but, according to supporters of his previous clubs, he is an under-performer. Yes I know that I shouldn't judge him prior to the season but I just have a gut feeling that he could turn out like all the other world beaters we have signed over the last few years.

Let's hope not, and wish him well, but remember JET our fans won't put up with more crap. We have been forced to live on that diet for far too long so if you can serve up better offerings you will be adored at Ashton gate and remember it's all up to you.

As I have posted before when I have seen JET play behind a striker he makes things happen when they play him out wide and starve him of the ball he drifts out of games it all comes down to a question of style of play if you are planning on keeping the ball on the deck and playing through the midfield you will see him at his best if all you do is hit long balls over his head so he can behave like a dog playing fetch don't be surprised if he just sits down and says sod it.

The difference this time is that JET is now at a club that isn't looking to jump back to the Premier League. He was tipped to be a star in the Premier League, and that didn't happen. He was then tipped to be a star in the Championship, and that didn't happen. He's now down in League 1, and at his age there ain't a lot more chances coming his way to prove that he is the footballer everyone said he was.

Also, this time around we have SOD, who is known for working well with younger players. I reckon he can make something of JET.
