A midfield with O'Neil, Jenas and Kranjcar just ain't doing it. No-one taking on responsibility to create anything.

Carroll and Hoilett in for next game. Henry too?

Just don't see what O'Neil adds. Don't rate Jenas. Kranjcar doesn't deserve to be in the team on current form.

Dont forget our genius of s manager put Carroll in the defensive midfield position, he will probably have henry playing off the front man too! The only AM in that side is kranjcar and the bloody idiot in charge puts him at LW.

Me neither, just seems totally mediocre at everything, like Jenas but with less pace.

O'Neil's a funny one. Looked superb on his debut, albeit on as a sub and has had some very industrious if not spectacular performances and some dire ones. Today he was very poor.

I had no idea pace was a Jenas attribute. When I see it I will comment.

On a more positive note, how good is Ekotto? If he's not good enough for Spurs then I'm a chinaman.

Good player, but is his heart in it? There was a moment towards the end when a Donny player cut between BAE and Barton and they both just watched him go.

Thats not a compliment on Jenas, just emphasising how slow O'Neill is. He's even worse on the wing so I'm glad he's gone in the summer.

when O'neil went off i thought that Kranjar was going in the middle as I forgot Jenus was even on the pitch, the whole forward playing players were **** today, also why simpson or anyone for that matter but he was the worst offender can't just put a first time cross in the box I fail to see it.

You'd have thought that since we clearly have problems linking to the front man, playing an AM like kranjcar or carroll but no, we play 3 CMs or 2CMs and a DM with krsnjcar at LW and/or Carroll at CM or even DM.

Assuming they're fit then yes Carroll and Hoilett in for next game + possibly Henry. Think Kranky is still lacking match fitness so yet to see what he can bring but the others probably not doing enough. For me assuming will still be 5 in midfield should be:

    --------------- Henry -------------
    Phillips -- Barton -- Carroll -- Hoilett

So your answer to not creating any chances is to go even more negative 4141?

Did say assuming playing 5 in midfield which I personally wouldn't, but that said don't see Carroll in for O'neil, & Hoilett in for Kranky as being more negative & the reason for Henry over Jenas is to allow the more attack minded midfield to do just that & concentrate on attack.

That's the formation we had that made Charlton look good.

We have no need for henry if we play two of Barton, Jenas, O'Neill and one of kranjcar or Carroll ahead of them.

Henry is a player we should only use for the last 10 mins of a game against sides lime Leicester, forest, Burnley etc where we are hanging on. Playing him just hands the initiative to the opposition no matter how bad they are.

You're right. That is what happened against Charlton. When Jenas went off he should of bought AJ on instead of Henry. Barton and O'Neil had enough between them to hold the midfield. Just out of interest, if all the squad were fit. Who would you play and how would you set them up?

    Start off with a 4231

    …................Austin

    Hoilett.....kranjcar/Carroll....philips
    ..............Faurlin.... Barton

    BAE.....Onuoha... Hill/Dunne...simpson

We go 424 when we have the ball like we did under Warnock, change to a 442 at HT if we aren't looking like scoring, not on 80 mins.
Its also about attitude, we are either playing scared or are sleepwalking through games, that has to change.

Obviously Jenas would come in for faurlin for now.
