    Apparently Spurs want to sell him to raise 8 million to buy Ben Foster. Worth a bid me thinks.

    Good player. Would cost too much in fee + wages IMO. Graham for £2.5m is a far better deal for us imo.

    I dont see why we wont pay high wages. Ok, 45k+ a week is silly, but apparently we're not going to pay more than 15k a week, when Paddy Kenny is on 20k a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!we're not going to survive on players on 15k a week.If we are meant to be signing Crouch, he'll want more than 15k a week to walk away from possible european football next year.

    So we won't get Crouch either. The board have calculated the budget, we all have to live with it. I, for one, don't want to see the club heading back into administration. Young and hungry......

    If we go back into administration we'll be lucky to stop there.

    I totally agree with RR , would rather go down than into administration , if we try to run our club like pompey we will end up in trouble.

    Because there is a wage structure look at clubs like Hull and Leeds who signed players on stupid wages went down and couldnt afford to keep them.

    Crouch, Parker, Defoe- are no goes.

    But we do have alot of money. I'm just trying to say that we need to buy players that will keep us up, and they wont settle for less than 30k a week

    They haven't gone nuts with the spending have they? The Amuyla load will need repaying, so that is £10 million gone. If the board want to recoup some of the last 2 season's loses, they won't be much of our Premier league cash left for this season, especially once contract have been adjusted for the new season.

    What give you the impression that loads of money is going to be spent?

    The fact is we'll need players that are a lot better than what we have and that will cost money. However, we won't be throwing it around just for the sake of it and the likes of Defoe, Cole etc are way out of our price range.

    Billionth you seem to be the one thats suggesting all these crazy signings. You've been sucking on a few too many bottles of J.D since the promotion party my friend!! :laugh:

    I suppose the question is Swords;
    what is our price range?
    If it is 10 to 15 million as has been suggested, that won't get us very far especially if the higher wage bill has to come out of that.
    The Mittals know what it will cost to keep us in the premiership
    next season and I don't believe that they want any part of their empire to fail and reflect badly on them,if only from a pride perspective.
    I feel they will pony up but of course I could be wrong!
