OK, I've been out of circulation for a while, so this might have been covered elsewhere in the Transfer Rumours thread, but I was listening in to Talkshite this aft (I know it's a bad habit and I'm seeking therapy...) and stumbled across the story that Mr Defoe is currently sat in the Spurs reserves and earlier this week stuck five goals away in a single game. The discussion was around whether JD needs to get out of Spurs in January in order to protect his position in the England squad for the Euros. So.... do you think he does need to get out (actually, what's Harry's problem with him?) Would we be interested in him, given the challenges we currently face? Discuss. GKRK.
Probablly not on our radar although a very good goalscorer but beware GKRK I mentioned him in a thread the other day and got shot down in flames
He's a limited player and stunts a good team, much like Darren Bent. When he scores the team gets points, but when he doesn't he offers nothing, that's why both him and Bent can both score their team past the mid-table mark. but if the team wants to kick on they have to look elsewhere. Whilst i agree we need another striker, and indeed one who can finish, we need one who can fit into our new pass and move style of play, who can bring his teammates into attacks. Ideally we could do with another Suarez, with a little creativity removed and a little poacher's instinct installed (1 is greedy enough i know).
