With 30 minutes left in the season, we get a red flag as Di Resta stops in the gravel at turn six. A few minutes later, rain falls, and with 10 minutes left in the session, the green flag appears.

None of the teams had any experience testing Pirelli's Wet tyres, and just a couple of laps would have given the teams very valuable data. Ferrari even hinted on twitter that they wanted some rain in the afternoon.

Autosport said that only Ferrari, Williams, Mercedes and Torro Rosso went out in the final minutes, with McLaren reported to have been watching the cars on track with "great interest".

When so much valuable data can be obtained, why did only 4 teams go out onto the track in the final minutes?
