Anybody no anything about him?

 

The facebook link didnt work for me but I know he's a French winger/forward who plays for Roma and is 23 or 24 years old. Never seen him play to my recollection but he's rated highly I think.

 

I think he is a Quality player great ability and alot of potential Menez and Ben Arfa linking up would be unplayable

 

Apart from him being French but I don't hold that against him... any more.

There is a report today that Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle are interested in Roma’s French International winger, Jeremy Menez.

There could even be some truth in the report, because Menez seems to fit what Newcastle are looking for, a fast young winger, who can play in a number of forward positions.

Menez has not been playing regularly for Roma for the last month or so, but still has played 23 times for the club this season, with 3 goals.

It seems that the arrival of Vincenzo Montella in the January transfer window, has limited the 23 year-old’s chances at the Italian club, and he may want to move on in the summer to get more playing time elsewhere.

This is what the Frenchman told L’Equipe today:

“I am not closed to thinking about leaving. It’s because of certain choices and certain people.”

The Longjumeau-born player, started his career with Sochaux in 2004, before moving to Monaco in 2006, for an undisclosed fee and on a four year contract.

Then in August of 2008, Menez moved to Roma, on a four year deal for a transfer fee of around £8M, and with further payments of £1.2M possible based on the player achieving certain goals.

He has appeared 97 times with 11 goals so far for the Italian club, played 62 times with 14 goals for Monaco and 62 times for Sochaux with 8 goals.

Jeremy has played for all the French Youth sides and so far has 3 full caps for the French side, and as you may have expected he played with a certain Hatem Ben Arfa for the French Youth sides.

The two Frenchman are around the same age, in fact Ben Arfa is just two months older, and they came through the French Youth teams at the same time..

So Ben Arfa will know this lad, and may provide some insight to Newcastle as to what his strengths and weaknesses are. And by the way Arsenal’s Sami Nasri and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema were also in those same French Youth squads.

Menez has a big reputation in France, but has not done well, for whatever reason, at the Roma club, but he was a star at both Sochaux and Monaco. The player has great pace, and we’re sure that’s an element of play that manager Alan Pardew wants to have in the Newcastle side for next season.

Menez has 221 first class club games in his career with 33 goals and 25 assists, and in addition has about 56 games for the various French Youth sides with 27 goals.

Certainly this player seems to have an excellent pedigree, and would probably cost around £7M in the transfer market, which is certainly affordable to Newcastle.

I think Ben Arfa fell out with both of them, might have been Diaby though. Sounds like team spirit wasnt great in those youth teams.

I wud take Maxi but not N'Gog (New Shola) probs a load of **** though

Thought it was Diaby, certainly didn't fall out with Nasri, because Nasri was very supportive of him after he had his leg broken by De Jong.

 

Just as welll he didn't know about Santiago Muñez then.

 

might have been diaby mate, although I dont think he has had a problem with any arsehole players.
I know it has been reported about Benzema though.
