Surely this is the biggest overreaction to anything. Ever.

The outcry from this is astonishing.

    Even worse than that.

He said all those protesting should be shot, but in the most obviously joking way, and people are calling for his head.

    Jeremy Clarkson is a twat.
How can anyone who talks about cars
and earns millions from it., qualify to talk about Public sector workers pensions.
It is he who should be shot... utter twat.

Our people who work as nurses, doctors, teachers, paramedics, fireman, policeman etc be forced .... to sacrifice the
country, to re-pay for the abysmal performance of bankers and politicians.

It is they who should be held accountable!

Gordan Brown, was left with billions when he took over.

An analogy of Gordan Brown and Tony Blair ( Tony Bliar ), would go something like this...

You decide to travel the world, you have three properties doing very nicely , thank you. £1,000 income a month.
Gordan Brown, who you en-trust with said properties , then decides to re-mortgage said properties...
and on your return 10 years later, not only find that your properties are worth less? That you actually owe us £1,000 a month on those properties.
**** you for trying to better yourself.

David (call me Dave ) & George Osbourne jump aboard ship....let's play the private sector against the pulic sector to de-flect
    interest from us.

The public and the private sector argue whats right and wrong.

The politicians and the bankers rub hands and love it.

Nice one millionaire Dave, we're all in this together.

I've come to the decision that i'm not going to vote anymore.
    All Politicians are ****s.
They're in it for themselves, they are are all the the same and they don't represent me.

And Jeremy Clarkson is an utter ****!
I hope he dies in a motorway pile-up! Prick.

Clarkson writes for the Sun which kinda says it all, however, there will be a Top Gear DVD out at Christmas so a bit of publicity does no harm. I think the reaction of the unions was predictably over the top as well, and I speak as a Unison rep at my workplace who has seen the other side of what the public see of the way unions work. Don't believe for a minute they have the best interests of their members at heart, I've had more battles with self-serving Regional and Branch Officers than I've ever had with employers, they're all a bunch of ****s. And, by the way, I and 95% of my workplace members didn't strike on Wednesday because of the way the union let us down last year when 20% of our members lost their jobs or had hours & pay cuts.

Clarkson managed one thing ... he managed to draw all the attention away from Joey Barton's mis-timed comments about the selfishness of suicide.

    Thanks Jezza.

Not politicians playing Public vs Private - there's the argument of someone who doesn't understand the issue beyond soundbytes.....

Labour, over governments going back 40 years, allowed the Public Sector to build up allowances and pensions that were all well and good when the economy was fine, and when tax income was sufficient for the foreseeable to support the cost. But they put in loads of (at the time) unneeded safeguards that meant that if the economy went tits up, the liability to fulfil the pensions was still there.

Private pensions haven't had that, and we know that these have been dropping in value and in some cases being completely wiped out for years now.

Labour were, and are, far too scared of their union paymasters to do anythinggn about it when they were in government, and so they ignored it. And when the Tories were in power through the 80s and early 90s, the economy was sufficient that other items were the priority. Now the current Coalition government is addressing it as part of the overall approach to trying to stabilise and fix the deficit that was there in May 2010. because they have to. And the Trotskyist unions don't like it, so they are crying 'foul' and calling strikes with rhetoric and misleading stats.

Truth is, even if the current deal is accepted, the Public sector will STILL have pensions that are cheaper, more valuable, and earlier to pay out than the Private sector. My pension has been slashed over and again over the past few years, my salary (yes, salary - not 'salary and benefits' or 'salary after adjustment for inflation') has dropped by 5K over the past three years, to the point where I've had to stop paying into my pension because I need the income now. What I'll do when the time comes I don't know. But that's twenty plus years off.

And all because the Unions have convinced Public Sector workers that this isn't about how cushy they have had it for decades, but how nasty those chaps in Westminster are. Bollocks. It's all about them picking on the government because with Labour in opposition, idiots and jokers like Bob Crow lose their place on the top table, and they don't like it.

Well, Bob and all, get used to it. Or get a proper job.

Anyway - rant over, back to Clarkson. He's like a fat, balding Joey Barton. Speaks his mind, which is fine, but doing it on primetime telly wasn't necessarily the best time to say what he did.

I've always said "shoot them" to all criminals and why should we spend £40,000 per year keeping them in prison.........but honestly joking,
but I'm not a "celebrity" so no one really takes any notice. Wife calls me Victor (Meldrew) on occasions.

Who ****ing cares what Clarkson said. He was joking for Christ's sake. When those two talentless ****s Russell (what do I do for a living) Brand and Jonathan (welease woger) Woss ****ed up big style on Radio (no) 1, now that WAS bad. Some of the overreacting has been unbelievable. Most complainants seem to have had a sense of humour bypass. BBC usual dressing up of the story by saying there have been 21,000 complaints, hmmmmm let me see, that would be 0.035% of the UK population. Get real!

Has anyone actual heard the full transcript of what Clarkson said, or are you all just forming an opinion from what has been reported?

QPR1954..reckon you have discvered a way where we could get at least one person a job if hanging convictec peados & murderers can be proved beyond all doubt, free up some space in prison for the tossers that con the elderly, save some cash and help sort out the economy.
Look forward to seeing our other policies!!
Oh yeah, you have my vote now.....
