A little off topic, but well now he is free from the dreaded facist Auntie, should he stand for PM? The 'Top Gear' party has a bit off a ring to it don't you think? I would vote for him !

Its a shame he was not available when the FIFA vote was made!<whistle>

Farage is doing a pretty good imitation of him already.

Isn't Clarkson pro-EU? He's also said some very nice things about German, Italian, Japanese and even French cars.

Farage, the "xenophobe", has such an aversion to foreigners that he married one. Maybe he just thinks that large scale importation of cheap labour is not a good idea. He also has a quaint opinion that it would be a good thing if we could actually decide who to allow in, rather than be dictated to from Brussels. (Along with deciding our own laws).
There are always two sides to an argument, and many may welcome the admittance of millions of newcomers since 1997, but it is still legal (and morally OK) to question the wisdom of it....for the moment!

    Clarkson Gaffes

N word, Driving a Jag around India's slums with a toilet on it, calling Mexicans lazy flatulent oafs that sleep against walls, calling Asians "Slopes".

Farage Gaffes, well where do you want me to start?

The trouble with extreme Rightists is no matter how they try to hide the fact that they are racist, it usually shows through sooner or later. Although in Clarkson's case he doesn't try that hard.

Wasn't "slopes" scripted ? Didn't Hammond commit the Mexican "gaffe" and didn't Clarkson mumble to avoid the "n" word, and replace the word in his final cut, only for one of his loyal BBC team to release the "off air" scene?

I see a lot of Conservatives, Liberals and Labour scared of Farage. I see a lot of "What if" mockumentaries and scaremongering by TV companies.

I'm sure that quite a few UKIP supporters have a race agenda, many don't. There are some strange people in all political parties, such as the Labour councillors in Rotherham, Rochdale, Sheffield etc.
Or maybe Jack Straw, "the English are not a race worth saving." Someone tell him that the English are an ethnic group not a race, and also ask Trevor Phillips if that comment is racist.

The trouble with extreme leftists is no matter how they try to hide the fact that they are self-loathing "racists" it usually shows through sooner or later.

Yes I should have put extreme leftists too. But when you look at the sheer volume of racist, bigoted and other ridiculous comments being made by UKIP senior party members I don't get how anyone can fail to see them for what they are.

I think Farage should make one of his policies 'pints of real ale for only 50p' that would surely be a campaign winner, certainly in these parts and not to mention the Midlands and up North!<whistle> <laugh>

I am not sure if Jezzer is a real ale man though, probably unlike me beer income, but champagne tastes<whistle>

Unfortunately Meowth, about 15% of the population see what they are, but have the same views. There is probably a similar percentage that support a far right party, in most other countries in Europe as well and that is an observation, not xenophobia!

I think UKIP are riding on the backs of the floating voters who used to vote Lib-Dem before they went into government. We saw a spike in the BNP vote a few years ago and I think this general election will be UKIP's spike.

The Lib-Dems are going to be destroyed. That's nothing to do with going into a Coalition with the Tories; they'd have had the same fate awaiting them if we'd had a Lad-Lib Coalition since 2010. Being in government means they can no longer be used as a protest vote against the status quo.
