http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/12735013.stm Apparently he's joining Arsenal until the end of the season. Brilliant news in my eyes, was worried Mannone would be heading back there and we'd left without a keeper. Hopefully this means we can keep hold of him until the end of the season, or even longer.
Yes, I did actually read the article before I posted it. We only have Guzan on loan for a month, so after that we'd be stuffed, whilst we have Mannone until the end of the season, hopefully longer than it will take for him to recover from injury. If Guzan went back and Mannone was recalled once he'd recovered from injury then we wouldn't have a keeper. Hence why I'm glad they've signed Lehmann, it makes them recalling Mannone when he's fit less likely.
Mannone will get the nod ahead of Lehmann when hes fit imho so I dont think we'll see vito in a city shirt again. but you never know...
Thing is Wengers blind, he is keeping Almunia as his Number 1 and Lehmann as back up. So when Mannone gets fit, Schezny should be near fitness as well and I would assume we'll get him back for the last few games.
It would appear from the emergency loan of Lehmann, that, Wenger does not feel Mannone has sufficient experience for the PL, so, based on that theory, and, the lack of comment from the Emirates, we should see him back with us, once he is fit again.
It's not an emergency loan. Lehmann is out of contract because he retired last summer. He's being brought in because for at least the next 6 weeks Arsenal only have one keeper fit, nothing to do with Mannone lacking experiance. That said, I would imagine Mannone will be back with us once he's fit with his 24 hour recall being used if Arsenal end up short again.
