Carl Jenkinson has trained with the senior squad after Roy Hodgson called him and asked him to attend. Jenkinson is not eligible to play for England yet as he's represented Finland at U21 However Jenkinson has made it clear that he wants to represent England in the future and jumped at the chance to train with the squad. It seems clear that Hodgson has Jenkinson in mind for the RB berth along with Kyle Walker. He had this to say about Jenkinson's invite:
Roy seems to be a massive fan of Glenn Johnson, so it's going to be tough for Jenko to get into the first team. Although, we now have five potential England players (Jenko,AOC,Walcott,Wilshere and Gibbs) who are first team players for us. Wenger said he will start to slowly integrate more English players into the team and he has.
And ten years ago Wenger said that it would take ten years for the next decent crop of English talent to break through into the first team, as there was a lack of English talent available then.
Well Gareth Bale is the Welsh Messi according to 'Arry Oh and Hodgson seems that way about all Liverpool players, not just Johnson. Expect to see Shelvey plenty more.

He's been in cracking form of late, right back is a very well contested spot at the minute. Richards (my preference) Walker Johnson Jenkinson And our own Clyne, who is the current u21 right back. All look like they could have a shout in the near future and all fairly young barring Johnson.
Wenger's plan was always to have a strong english presence in the team, but the youngsters coming through were not up to the required standard, and well the foreign players were technically and tactically better but now we can see the young english players coming through. And it will only get greater, and it will massively help the national team aswel.
