JENKINS is understood to have addressed his players at the club's Fairwood base before they travelled north for the daunting clash at the Etihad and made clear their recent performances had not been acceptable and had left him with little choice but to remove Monk. Jenkins also warned the players they are effectively playing for their futures, starting today at Manchester City, with the appointment of a replacement expected just before the January transfer window. Those sentiments were echoed by caretaker boss Alan Curtis, who said: "We all feel - staff and players - that we have let Garry down and we want to go a small way to rectifying that on Saturday. "Some may say it is too late because Garry has already gone but we also have a massive duty to the club and supporters. They have not been through many difficult periods over the last 10 years but we want to rectify this one as soon as possible. Jenkins will use the weekend to continue to narrow down his shortlist of potential replacements for Monk. Link:http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...responsibility-Garry-Monk-sacking-News-Gossip
Jenkins says the players are playing for their futures because the transfer window is opening soon ..............................what's Huw going to buy players with .....buttons
Actually, they are playing also for his, the Board's and the Shareholders' (financial) futures as well. Where else would Huw be paid £550k pa? He wouldn't get that in the Championship..... Similarly, the other Board Directors wouldn't receive their not insignificant fees if the Club played in the Championship..... Finally, who is going to value & buy the club at circa £100m if it played in the Championship...... As for buying players in the January window - as the Club has little or no debt, they may decide that "speculating" £10m to try and stay in the PL is a price worth paying....
I'd rather use that and buy Gomis out of his contract and tell him to get stuffed I think we should go all out in January to buy Charlie Austin. That's the sort of striker we need.
Well we will see what these Prima Donna's will do today, if they don't put a shift in, then you will see Huw hit the roof. Anyone heard about a certain X manager seen in a certain Swansea Hotel?
I totally agree, we have always signed players with a point to prove and have moved away a bit from that with Ayew and Gomis. Lets get back to hungry players instead of ones here for an easy payday. So who is x manager then.
