    Probably similar to the Pav thing. Adding a year to his contract increases his value. Jenas will always remain the "what if" player with us, clearly has great potential but doesn't seem to ever fulfill it bar a 1 in 10 game ratio. A shame really.

    Pogrebnyak's contract is only til the end of the season, Croydon.
    You could theoretically sign him, Rodallega and Ba for a total of about £7m, assuming that the reports about the Geordie's new hero are true.

    That's what I was sort of getting at in a got bugger all sleep last night kind of way - sell them Jenas as a sweetener for first refusal on Pogrebnyak.

    Of course, if Jol thinks Jenas is some kind of incentive for letting a good player slip through his fingers, that proves we were right to sack him at the end of the day...
