http://duncanjenkins.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/such-little-thing-makes-such-big.html Duncan Jenkins is an 'aspiring journno and he's pretty reliable' with his info. He's been quiet recently and his blog explains why - after being threatened by Jen Chang, LFC's Director of Communication. Edit: DJ is not a real person. He generated a lot of followers by posting 'updates'. Whether they were genuine updates or he was recycling information from people like Ben Smith and James Pearce etc, who knows.
The club are protecting their best interests. They don't want to have moles in the club which can cost them money and transfers. Jenkins claimed to be in the know and now he's upset that the club have caught him and asked him to stop? No sympathy really.
agree, this will not have been said on behalf of the club. Sounds like he needs his wings clipping. What a twat.
They didn't just have a quiet word in his ear and asked him to stop. They started threatening him and hiring private investigators to go after him. Wonder if they'll start doing the same with Tony Barrett or Ben Smith if they say who our transfer targets are in the media?? What a stupid thing for Chang to do.
Regarding the topic of this thread, TAW should be worth a listen tomorrow I am hearing. If they are true to their word the truth about Chang will be out for all to hear and every person who doubted Jenkins and slandered him will be force fed a huge dollop of humble pie.
Unbelievable what was occupying the minds of our top brass during what should have been our most important transfer window in a decade. Chasing shadows rather than players just about sums up the way we are run these days.
This sounds like the guy I've had twitter dealings with, thin skinned & paranoid. Just what you need on communications of one of the mist talked about clubs in the world.
Was it you who had the run ins with him on twitter before he even came to LFC Frank? Seem to remember you posting something about him being a bit of a dick.
Yeah, short story was me & another LFC fan criticised a fellow journo about tweeting (we saw it because Jen retweeted it) a link apparently discussing the Evra Suarez row & when you went through to the story it was essentially a fluff piece on Evra his growing up trials & tribulations and one line at the end about the actual issue. I pointed that this out & Jen flat denied it? Questioning our ability to read. We politely (honest I actually was) restated that the link title be changed as it wasn't actually discussing the case but promoting Evra as a person. We got last "warnings " arrogant prick & I just repeated myself saying it was misleading & why was he sticking up for something so simple as a fellow journo using a trashy title to entice readers in? Subsequently blocked. I'm Tony Graham following not 606 on twitter if anyone can actually be arsed going back a year. You can only see my tweets because he's blocked me but there you go. I'd hoped he'd use this arrogance positively for us against the media & FA but it turns out he's still using it against the wrong people & worse like all little Hitlers the little increase in Power seems to have made him worse. But we will see.
Doesn't really bode well does it. Not exactly "The Liverpool Way" either is it (whatever that means anymore).
So its defendable for a senior exec of LFC to lure a fan to a meeting under false pretences and then **** him up and scaring him by threatening him, his family and all their businesses just because Jenkins had a bit of a laugh on Twitter like all the others on Twitter who take the piss saying their ITK? He didn't have a mole or anyone in the club, trust me I should know, he got all his info from 3 very famous LFC centric national journalists, so no-one can say Chang done it to plug a leak. Chang knew DJ didn't have a mole due to his investigations, that was just a convienient excuse to justify his bully-boy tactics. So, according to you any Red who goes on the internet pretending to have someone on the inside of LFC and posting info about signings, deserves to have Chang threaten them and their family? Just think about that for a second. Someone is a dick on Twitter and in response they deserve to have someone very powerful within one of the biggest multi-national institutions in the world tell him he'd be banned from Anfield, have all LFC fans turn against him and post **** through his letterbox and ultimately have to relocate and go into hiding and be told his and his families businesses would be sabotaged and destroyed? Yes. That seems really reasonable. Jesus H. Christ. Anyway, I'm told the back pages of one of the daiys should be quite an interesting read tomorrow. Might wanna keep an eye on them.
This is the start: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-who-fell-foul-of-clubs-paranoia-8212531.html
Now there's your problem: if you hire an over-sensitive paranoid, he now wears the club badge & its the club that's over-sensitive & paranoid. Regarding admin/management posts, what is FSG's success rate? And I thought this would at least be the end they'd get right quickest.
Cheng has to go for 2 reasons. 1. This is not how LFC conducts business. 2. He has demonstrated he knows little about social media. Communications Head? Do me a favour.
