    Proven Premiership Goalscorer, 28years old, not happy with his bit part place at Spurs this season. Could be a good signing for us - but doubt he'd be cheap!!

    But any more than 10 mil no thanks

    Between 10 and 15 mil aslo wages of 70 k which I know we wont spend but we need a quality striker and if it was toss up between Carlton Cole and Defoe I'd choose Defoe everytime.

    Na i'd take £8 mil and 50k the bloke is a proven prem goalscorer!
    We won't get a proved goalscorer for that price unless we take a risk on a sow or gamerio!

    I gotta say I think people get carried away with him. He's had one excellent season (which was when you'd expect it - aged 27, at the peak of his career) but for the majority of his career he's been a one in three man, which is alright, but it's what Nolan gets from midfield. I think if he was cheap, it would be a no-brainer, but for the money that 'Arry would want and the wages he'd want it's a different no-brainer

    I'd take Crouchy any day of the week! One of the most underrated players in the prem and England have shot themselves in the foot by not playing him as often as is justified by his scoring record!

    If the money and wages were good, then i see it as a no brainer. But, I doubt he'd want to come up to us anyway. He's a bit of a playboy...so I cant see him leaving London.

    All I'm thinking about is Carlton Cole reportedly being available for £7m...........how is he any better than Shola!?

    I'd take Defoe for £8m over that any day of the week.....give a good run he'd get you between 10 and 15 a season! What would Carlton Cole get you!?

    Yeah he's a natural goalscorer and wouldn't bet on him not reaching the 10+ goal mark if he's given the chance but unfortunately his age and wages play against him.
    But I wouldn't mind getting him or Robbie Keane on a loan ...
