    Apparently Rangers turned down a £9m bid from us yesterday

    Don't know much about him- looks like he had a decent goal for game ratio last year but in previous years he didn't bag too many.

    Probably about what you'd expect for a third choice striker.

    I've seen him, he's a good player, but not great, and he likes to play up front by himself. So no.

    I heard Leicester bid £6.5M for him a couple of days ago so I assume they would have come in for him again.

    To be honest, i'm stunned Rangers rejected a £9M bid for a player. We all know Scottish clubs don't have that much money and £9M is a lot of money.

    Apparently we were very very very close to getting Adam Johnson yesterday but it fell through at the final hurdle.

    I think now until January will be good time to look at what position we need to strengthen. With the added bonus of selling Meieles and N'gog we may have a nice sum to splash out.

    I would like Johnson as it would give us a better depth on the wings. Personally the one position i have slight concerns abut is the right wing. Yeah we have Kuyt, Henderson and Gerrard (also Downing) that can play there but i would quite like to see a natural right winger to make that position their own.

    I know what you mean,its not really obvious where we need strengthening most.Is it wide player,striker,or midfield, the time between now and Jan wil tell us that.

    I would say right mid, with us havin about 6 players who can play there without any standin out

    Players we may look at in Jan, Hazard( If Lille knocked out of CL),Honda ( end of Russian season),Griezmann,Moussa Sissoko,Erikksen.I suspect theres no chance of Adam Johnson,not in Jan anyway


    In other news Glen Johnson training today, should be fit for Stoke
