    Is Jeff a descendant of Jack Stelling, the early 1950s Sunderland left back? If so, I've got his autograph, collected when I was a kid.

    Great presenter, although I bet there are some off air recordings of him and his Countdown contestants discussing who'd like to 'smash' the boiler with the numbers and letters !

    Met Jeff in Aberdeen years ago and he is true gent. It was in the days of Rodney Marsh.Georgie boy and Frank Mcklintock. They new their stuff. Jeff would do a great job.
