J. de Guzman is set to join Champions League qualification club Napoli for £5M. Napoli tonight (19.08) drew 1-1 with Spanish outfit Athletic Biboa in the UEFA CL Qualifying phase and will join up with his former Swans team mate Michu. To be honest guys, no matter what he wasn't ever coming back to us. Napoli are not through yet to the Group Stages but there is no way you blame the lad for choosing the Italian club. Out of us, QPR and them then it is hardly a tough choice for him as this is his first real chance at the level. I do like how their star defender just left them, maybe he foresaw the threat from Bilboa and decided to jump ship before he was locked into to just Serie A
I just watched Michu have a brain freeze in front of goal ,what was he thinking ,perhaps he's having regrets after watching our result V Utd .
Anybody watch the Napoli v Bilbao game? Michu came on late and had a clusterf** moment in front of goal and bottled it. He could have won the game for them. Edit: Just seen the post above from Boundy.
Always thought De Guzman was "OK" , just not worth the money asked . Spent lots on loaning him already.
Well if we get an 'OK' player who is our second highest scorer this season I'll be happy. Don't think we were ever in the running for JDG. Good luck to him - had a great stint with us and contributed to our recent success, his free kick v Valencia being the highlight for me. As for Michu - looks like he's picking up where he left off.
Ungratefullness knows no bounds around here at times, all a player has to do to bring it out is .....leave .

Don't think it's a coincidence that De Guzman and Fernandez signs on the same day. Think the Fernandez-signing was delayed because Napoli wanted to make sure that Swans didn't approached De Guzman...
Classy player, and a classy guy - unlike some of our fans who sadly know **** all about fooball. Luckily for him Benitez knows a bit more than them. Cheers, De Guz! Michu take note!!!!
... well Benitez agrees and I suspect his managerial credentials are a tad better than anyone else's here.
