20 goals in 25 games this season so far. Some record but I think he has found his level. Always thought his feet were out of proportion with his body. Almost clownshoe-esque in fact.
Yep. Level found. Loanees from the Arse, you'd think we'd learn. Oh no, Steve keeps being seduced by Arsene's silky tongue. I hope that you've learnt your lesson now, Steve. Don't be Wenger's bitch no more.
He's having a great season and they expect someone to come in for him this month, but he only scored 5 in 28 for them last season.
Formed a good partnership with Aluko, scored some good, but not nearly enough, goals for us - no going back though, he's at his level.
Not saying that we should have him back at all just think that at his current level or maybe L1 he would be a valuable commodity.
Sometimes players drop down, get picked up by a higher team & do well, can't say he'd be good for us but I can see him stepping up to someone like MK Dons or Huddersfield. He did have a flyer when him & Stewart connected but it didn't last long & his confidence went.
I was on one of their boards earlier and they reckoned if it wasn't for him they'd be nowhere near eighth place. They was also impressed with the way Calaum Jahraldo-Martin played for the 15 minutes he was on the pitch. They also want rid of the Manager. Edited for CJM's proper name.
Just checked to see if Stewart is still alive and it seems he's scored 3 in 17 on loan at Donny this season.
I think its crazy to say Simmo's found his level. There's always a chance he can play at a higher level. He had a good schooling, it didnt work out. He's matured. Clever footballer with a good brain. Look at Wilbraham, Lambert, Delaney. I wouldnt write him off.
Wilbraham is still ****, just because he made it to the PL doesn't make him a striker! How the **** he made it to the PL is a mystery to me actually!
Brucie got rid of him and brought in Danny Graham - says it all really - Simpson was great at holding the ball up, unfortunately he was **** at scoring although he was better than the other strikers Brucie brought in that were **** at scoring
The interplay between Simpson and Aluko that led to Sone's goal at Bristol City in October 2012 was a thing of true beauty, an early sign of our promotion potential that season.
Definitely. He also got himself into positions to score an absolute bag full in our promotion season, just fell to bits in front of goal. Physically, mentally, technically he's a very good player. He led the line for us brilliantly.
I wouldn't write a player of because he was **** for us, that's happened to a lot of players that have gone on to do well. He's got a good amount this season, I wouldn't say he's 'found his level', at the frequency he's scoring it looks like he's dropped too far. As OLM said he only managed 5 last season but I can see him kicking on.
Jon Walters as I recall couldn't score for ****e when he signed for us permanently , dropped down the leagues and well....
Jay Simpson has found his level with ease. However league one should be well within his ability. I am glad Jay is doing so well arm.
If he's scoring easily then he's dropped down too far, hasn't found his level at all. If anything he's too good for League 2 and should be playing higher up. Any idea who the clubs are that are interested in him?
He scored a hat-trick v Liverpool pre-season for us I remember that well, shame he never really shone but he was another of these London fellas like Akpom who seem not to get on with us
