I think we should try and entice Jay Simpson back to Loftus Road. He played, in my opinion, very well for us a couple of seasons ago, and scored a fair few goals to boot. I remember great linkage between Jay, Wayne and Akos, and I still think he can make an impact in the PL for us and himself. Your thoughts please. COYRsssssssss
Simpson's still young but experienced with several clubs. Most productive during time with us. Was really surprised when he signed for Hull and hasn't really shone. Started 'serious' football incredibly early (age 9) and I've been wondering whether he has been losing both focus and edge of late. If so, Warnock's the kind of manager he needs to rejuvenate him. Question is would NW see him as a prospect. Certainly seems affordable.
He was ok in the second tier. In the top division he'd be miles off in my opinion. He's hardly set the world alight at Hull and if there's anywhere worth setting alight it's Hull.
I think it's a bit misleading, when he first came we had no service from our midfielders (got dropped) and just before christmas he had a hot goal-scoring steak but then we signed Fryatt and McLean and didn't really get a look-in until a few weeks ago and he looks much more comfortable on the ball etc.
I reckon he is no more than a mediocre championship player, who I think should stay at hull. Rose tinted and Jay simpson will always be the case.
Least he knew where the goal was imo, plenty of confidence, and would have better players around him now.
How much is he on? ã200 a week? On your bike son, not a chance; haven't you got a younger brother looking for a bit of experience?
Agree, he looks the part but he's just not come up to expectations. Imagine him being up against Vidic or Samba.....lamb....slaughter
Most Hull fans don't seem to rate Homer, but from what I've seen this year I think he could still become an excellent CCC forward (and maybe a decent Prem player for a weak Prem team. like QPR or Hull when we were there). He just needs a bit more bite. Good luck in the Prem.
