QPR Eyeing JET as Blues Again Linked With Green Tue 24th Apr 2012 00:53 QPR have joined Fulham in eyeing Blues midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, according to a tabloid report. Meanwhile, Derbyâs Paul Green, who TWTD revealed was a potential Town target in January, is reportedly set to join the Blues this summer having turned down a contract at Pride Park. Cottagersâ scouts have been regular visitors to Portman Road in recent months with former Arsenal youngster Emmanuel-Thomas the reason for their trips. Relegation-threatened QPR are now said to have joined them. Irish international Green, 29, was brought to Derby from Doncaster by Paul Jewell during his time in charge of the Rams. In January, the Blues boss confirmed that he had spoken to the Pontefract-born midfielder or right-backâs agent. Green has also been linked with Leeds United.
He's clearly a talented guy and is capable of the sublime but from what I've seen is very inconsistent. He's built like the proverbial but has never really found a position when with his build and a good left foot in theory he'd make a decent forward, but seems to nowadays play mostly out wide right in a 3, a bit like Mackie's position but trying to cut in and without anything like the same work rate. Assuming we keep hold of Taarabt, I wouldn't want them both in the same team. If we go down and Taarabt leaves, he'd be a replacement of sorts and could probably be moulded into a good player by Hughes but he's nowhere near ready for the prem imo.
He's still young and more full of potential rather than being the finished article. If we go down then we'd not do too badly by getting him. If we stay up then we'd be better off farming him out on loan for a season. He didn't play much in the early part of the year but was roundly condemned for his lack of effort and sloppy passing when called upon. With the upturn in Ipswich's form (mainly due to Lee Martin and Andy Drury rather than JET) his performances have improved (his shooting and ability to glide past defenders are particularly good when on form) but his inconsistency is something that would need addressing by Hughes and his team. Basically a poor man's Taarabt but twice the size and not the same skill level.
Basically a poor man's Taarabt but twice the size And I though that Adel had looked as though he'd been on a Big Mac diet until very recently!!
Holy sh*t - that is seriously big! Mind you, did anyone see Neville Southall on the pitch before the Everton v Sunderland cup tie? My son thought that I was taking the p*ss when I said that he used to be a pro keeper!
As Cerny would say no truth. What the **** would we want him for he's ****.Every time i saw him in the last 2 seasons he was pants, the guys Championship fodder at best!
