Having watched the highlights again through gritted teeth, its clear that lazy lump Bothroyd is to blame for their winner. The analyst (Ronnie Whelan) highlighted it.

Phillips won a throw down the right and all Bothroyd had to do was hug the line and and challenge for the throw which would have won another one further up the line. Then the ball could have been taken into the corner and the sting taken out of the game.

I'm not surprised at seeing this. I still have the Cardiff warnings ringing in my ear about his listless demeanor and outright laziness. He's one player I certainly won't be sorry to see the back of this summer.

He has the talent, but not the application - I expect a Claridge type journey around the championship in the coming years

Looked totally out of his depth at being asked to do a defencive job, other players were pointing at him where to stand ffs. MH must have thought his height would help us marshall the mid-field or at least win ball and clear it further up field. Won't make that mistake again......one hopes.

He can't read the game at this level it seems. To be fair to him he needs a run in a team to feel part of it, no one has showed any faith in him since joining and a loan move seem a cert if he stays on our books. A year north of the boarder may be just what he needs.

It's strange, isn't it. It's not about talent and skill, but about his application. Contrast him with (say) Mackie. If he had the same desire as Mackie we'd have a decent striker on our hands.

That's exactly how I saw it. He made zero effort when the ball was thrown to him. If that had cost us he would never have been forgiven. Unless he already knew we were safe of course.

I have to agree with all of this (even Swords).

Every time he has come on I have thought that I'd have preferred a knackered Zamora to him.

    Oh give over!

Who cares? Seriously who gives two ****s. We stayed up and personally I was pleased city got the winner. It doesnt detract from our phenomenal performance and it allowed me to witness history as that match will be talked about for years.

Lets stop finger pointing at this and that and enjoy it.

Watch Jamie Mackie goal again Jockey then think again please ... All we had to do was last another 20 seconds ... Hold the bloody ball!!
I agree its over but how close were we???? We were nearly Premiership Heroes FFS and I am still very pissed off about it AND SO would all these silly fickle posters on here if ... IFS TURNED OUT DIFFERENT. I am certain that some of the players are disappointed

Id say for our role in arguably the greatest prem match of all time we are Prem heroes. Over the course of the season the players have done enough to stay up and if "THINGS TURNED OUT DIFFERENT" then we'd probably have been coasting in mid table.

And to Eamon no sir, sorry sir wont happen again sir. :emoticon-0106-cryin

It matters because hard choices now have to be made about the squad for next season. This typifies all the reasons why Bothroyd should NOT be part of that squad.

I personally think the bench was at fault for City's winning goal. They accidentally distracted the players by celebrating when they heard the Stoke game had ended in our favour, causing a lot of our players to stop momentarily and lose focus.

I saw someone having a go at Bothroyd about kicking the ball down the pitch as well, but he was instructed to do so by the bench and was just doing what he was told.

Well, if we are to move onwards and upwards then surely players like Bothroyd who have not been good enough for anything like a regular place this season, need replacing.

Throwing away that lead will haunt me for the rest of my days. A great opportunity for glory spurned.

Detention will be held down the pub this week.<cheers>

If you can't make it, choose a pub nearer home. I trust you to take your detention seriously and spend at least one hour in the pub.

It's all a matter of perspective, as well as our game I was glued to the Stoke game. Bolton could easily have won that game and I had a feeling they might with the final corner of the game, the fact that they didn't was a mighty relief and as soon as the final whistle went there, I was in complete party mode. Shortly after City got their winner. I realise that for a lot of people on here that was a let down after the heroics of the previous 90 minutes, and I respect that. For others on here, it didn't dampen how we felt. But let's all agree on one thing, we are QPR, we are PREMIERSHIP, and we will not be having this discussion ever again, whilst Mark Hughes is in charge, according to him! It's a bit like the contrasting emotions at the end of last season. What with that last minute Norwich goal, the Faurlin saga, it felt that we couldn't celebrate properly! What we want for next season is to win a cup and then we can ALL celebrate fully and completely!!!!!!! and then moan about being in the Europa league, lol!

I dont think Ive seen a softer 6ft 3 player than bothroyd.

contrast that with a 5ft 11 HH who wins every header and gets stuck in and isnt afraid to get hurt.
