Whats happened to Jason? Since being taken off at Leeds at half time he hasn't been in the match day squad?

Has anyone confirmed a injury or is he just not in right frame of mind or not match fit?

I like Steeeeve but don't think he should be ahead of Puncheo ATM.

Puncheon isn't as good as he thinks he is. De Ridder is worse than that.

Seen Puncheon in shots of training, so not obviously unfit. Saints are just a difficult team to get into. We may see more of de Ridder late on in games as an impact player.
Puncheon is more a player that can do a job for you, but won't change games.

When you got players like Lallana, Guly, Chaplow, De Ridder, Falque, Puncheon, and even possible the youngsters and/or Lee competing for those slots, its hard. Also because he's not as.. oh god cant think of the word, one of those moments... basically he cant play in more than 1 or 2 positions really. He's played in the hole and in centre midfield but certainly not quite good enough for those positions, whereas Guly has been used on the wings, in the hole, up front and the same with Falque, Lallana, De Ridder, Chaplow etc.

He's nothing more than a squad player.

One or two people tweeted him the other day to suggest he'd fallen out with everyone again. His reply was total lies, everything is fine. On his performance against Leeds, he said poor by my own standards, but we won [and we're] top of the league.

Doesn't read like someone who is in limbo. He's a squad player. He'll get a game soon enough.

He's nothing more than an asset being played occasionally to make sure he can be sold in the summer.

What's happened to Puncheon is he's been dropped. It's what happens when you provide zero end product in an attacking role

I think it is probably because De Ridders pace is more of an asset coming off the bench as an impact player.

I like Puncheon as a player, however De Ridder has seized his chance and is rightly in the squad at the moment

I just think he has toed the line and perhaps realised that based on his performances for us, he is not a nailed on starter.

Is that to do with his talent/apparent lack of it, or something more..?

If it is something more, perhaps you could remember that the slate has been wiped clean by all parties. That should include fans.

If it is merely down to his contribution to the team, then fair enough. We all have an opinion on a player's contribution.

30 odd players, only 16 can make the matchday squad. There's all sorts of reasons for why some playets get picked and others don't.

Why change the team that has done the business all season?...it's no coincidence that our dip in form in December and January came at the same time that we had the worst bout of injuries and suspensions.
