http://www.blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=527234 - Bid rejected from Blackpool - We want £1m - Have no interest in loaning him out thought id share it with you all, can't see a thread on it elsewhere but apologies if there is
"Puncheon's agent Tony Finnigan today told Vital Blackpool that the Championship leaders aren't interested in letting the player out on loan again and want him out of the club permanently." They don't want to loan him out because they see it as only a temporary solution. Seems they want completely rid of him "/
Get rid, the guy's an idiot. Talks too much. We'll never get £1million for him though, we need to lower the asking price.
£1million is about right after impressing in the Premier League last season. There will be other clubs interested, not just Blackpool, that will be able to bid more and potentially get him. He's seems quite cocky about the whole situation. After seeing him on Soccer AM a few weeks back, he looked quite smug and arrogant. The worst type of player that we could have right now, he would mess our whole team spirit up with his ego. Selling him would be best for both parties. We don't want him and he thinks he's to good for us.
Has anyone seen Tony Finnigan's comments on the BBC article about Saints? Seems pretty disrespectful to me.
Mustn't get hung up on 'respect' or we'll be as bad as Holloway and Poyet. Let's do our talking on the pitch. The interesting thing about the Finnegan interview is that he clearly said it was Adkins who didn't like Puncheon, not Cortese. I find that bit fascinating. We should sell Puncheon and all move on..let's not argue over a few hundred thousand as he will cost us that in wages soon.
I'm sure I heard somewhere that Puncheon had a bust-up with Andy Crosby. If he's not in the 16 on Saturday, I don't suppose we'll see him again in a Saints shirt.
It said in the Finnegan interview that he was training with the kids, so can't see him ever playing for us again.
"I have no idea why they wouldn't accept Blackpool's offer. I won't tell any club what their player is worth but to be honest with you if he could go for 50p then I would be delighted. "It wouldn't make any difference to me and it wouldn't make any difference to the player. Southampton need to get this player out of their hair. "Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is a personal friend of mine and he said he made a fair offer for a player Southampton clearly don't want. "When the manager tells me that, then I take his word for it. He said it was a very, very good offer. I have no idea if he will go back in with a new offer." Sounds simply like the agent is trying to drum up some business. The bigger the transfer fee the better percentage he gets but a lot worse for him if Puncheon is a free agent.
The agent said he didn't care if he went for 50 p. Of course he wants his share of any transfer fee, but agents also form personal relationships with their clients, so I'm sure he just wants this saga to end.
Hi Fran, I think he will go this is just a public wrangle; Saints want the most they can get for him as he does have talent and Blackpool wants a bargain while the agent is trying to expedite the move.
Good for us I say! We've set a valuation and cealrly want to get rid of him permanently, so we're doing no wrong. Finnigan saying Holloway bid a 'fair amount'. I bet it wasn't half the amount of our valuation of him. We want to recoup the money we spent on him and make a profit, so make him rot in the reserves. Puncheon and his agent really do themselves no favours.
