Thought he was superb today. A really exciting signing with pace and likes to cross the ball in with his first touch. West Ham fans were telling me he wasn't good enough... if he plays like that for the rest of the season though... Well we have a diamond!
It certainly made me happy that he was so decisive, him and Brady could limit Olsson to the bench for a while! And good to see you joining in, welcome to the board!
He was excellent - quick, decisive and compact on the ball. His goal was a gem. Could be a very important signing for us.
Superb. I wasn't excited about signing him as I thought he'd really lost it, but today he was quite incredible and it really suggests that West Ham's system just didn't suit him more than anything. Hopefully he can keep that up (and I'm going to be a bit quieter about Johnson leaving...) because we now have a very dangerous looking left-hand side. Even though Brady was solid today, I think he's a little dodgy positionally, so against stronger teams I still think I'd prefer to see a fully fit Olsson at LB, leaving us with the pleasant dilemma of Brady or Jarvis on the wing
Agree with all of this. Jarvis had a great game today. It's Redmond who'll need to be looking over his shoulder as Jarvis can play at RW as well. Redmond had a disappointing game today. Jarvis also impressed me with his tracking back as well and both he and Brady had sparkling games. I wasn't sure about the signing of Jarvis, but I certainly feel much better about it now.
For a debut that was pretty damn good. On the BBC SMS updates they claimed his goal was Ruel Foxesque. I like that (and loved Fox when he was our winger).
Well said you then Ox! It seemed that AN was suggesting that they knew Jarvis was available before they let BJ go. That seems like a good decision now.
It sounds from all previous posts that our passing game has improved. Good news indeed. Unfortunately, the only game I have seen thus far was the Southampton debacle so I was unsure of our real ability. Much happier now.
Interesting piece on Jarvis (and Bradders) http://readnorwich.com/2015/09/13/effective-can-matt-jarvis-norwich-city/?
I guess it's too soon for peace to descend on these boards, after what many thought was the utter 'shambles' of the transfer window. Interesting view on Jarvis and it seemed obvious yesterday that he and Brady have been working on supporting each other in training. Certainly something AN alluded to in his interview on MotD. Also good to see from the players' reaction after each goal that the team spirit is VERY much in evidence.
I was pleased when we signed him and he looked very good yesterday. We do look particularly strong on that side of the pitch now.
Excellent article here - http://metro.co.uk/2015/09/13/can-w...rn-his-career-around-at-norwich-city-5389436/ Early days, but if he continues to link up so well with Brady, then he could well resurrect his career with us.
Good article, as Gary gets it right again. You have to wonder what the Wet Sham fans thinks about that when they read it on the tube! If Jarvis continues like the gem he was against Bournemouth and Mbokani brings something special as well, things look to be progressing very well so far. With Olsson returning, Brady becomes an option at LW with Jarvis providing competition both there and at RW against Redmond. The squad looks far more balanced now.
