In my opinion this is the right decision. His F1 experience is invaluable, but more importantly he has proved that he still has the pace this weekend. The much talked about power steering allowed Trulli to outqualify teammate Kovalainen by half a second. Bearing in mind he has only beaten Kovy once in quali earlier this year, it is evident that he is finally regaining confidence in the car. I think, if Lotus make a step forward, he can still deliver. Besides, his finishing positions this year have been better than Kovalainen's (generally) anyway.
IMO a bad move. By Lotus. That seat could have been much better suited to a new talent. True, Trulli has experience, but for all the good it's done them so far, I'm suprised that Red Bull haven't tried to buy another one of their juniors like Jean Eric-Vergne a seat there.
He done this even without the new power steering unit. They had to take it off for some modifications and it wont be back until Singapore i think.
Bad decision. Heikki is showing he can be a team leader so why not bring in a rookie, save Trulli's salary so it can go on car development and bring in someone who won't moan about the bloody power-steering!
Yeah, I have to say I agree here. Trulli's done nothing but bring them bad press this year, I really expected Chandhok or that Malaysian bloke to take his place.
He needs to make one more Trulli Train before he retires would prefer to see a younger driver get a chance.
No keep him for 10 more seasons! Everytime I see him, I think about the powersteering and it cracks me up. I also hope lotus can up there game giving him a decent season before he retires for good.
