Sounds like you've been watching all the poor matches. All two of them.

Same. We should have more Japanese players.

Anyone who doesn't is no friend o' mine!

Interested to see Mitroglou - what the hell happened to him at Fulham?!! Was he really just injured/lacked fitness and that limited him to his 3 appearances?!

Big fan of Japan. If they go through they'll be my team. Alongside Chile and Colombia.

I don't know that we'll ever know for sure. There must be a reason that a relegation battling team refused to play a multi million pound striker over their kids.

A real shame that Tadanari just wasn't up to it.

Love it how the Japanese wear Mizuno boots. Hulk is the only non-Japanese player who I can think of that sports them (and he has his J League roots). Pretty sure I can remember Rivaldo wearing Mizuno too back in the day.

Not what you want from your captain. Come on Japan, make them pay.

What is it with players making stupid decisions in this World Cup.

Everybody else seems to be wearing boots which have their origins in the 1940-50s. Suddenly, after 50-60 years of the boot first revealed by Addidas, Puma, etc.., which loosely mimicked bespoke boots worn by the likes of Sir Stanley Matthews, i.e. soft and without ankle protection, we have boots which cover and support the ankle again. I suspect they're much softer than those 1950's boots, as modern boots have been getting softer and softer as the years roll by. Indeed, apart from the ankle protection, modern day tread pattern and the hi-tec design, they are almost becoming the boot that Matthews actually wore, which lasted only 2-3 matches before being on the point of falling apart.
