Best ever tallent comming thu the ranks at man united -if anyone seen the goals 2nd one pure quality and he can play for england pick him hodgson u must have been impressed!
He's not English. I don't want to see England fielding players from other countries, would rather see eleven Englishmen lose than some dodgy paid for team representing my country.
lmfao @ this thread England have a habit of this making sport's people "British". Hargreaves Greg rudzezski Lennox lewis Andy murry to name a few....
Haven't the Germans and Portuguese been doing this for the last few years? Not that I approve, but it's hardly unheard of.
It's a ridiculous attitude to adopt. As you say Jip, some countries including The French and the Germans have no qualms whatsoever about using the rules to play people who have simply lived in their country for a few years. Even Scotland have done it. If a player is entitled - by FIFA rules - to play for Scotland, then I don't care if he was born on the Moon, if he's good enough then I want to see him represent Scotland.
he's German born and raised, don't give a **** if his parents are African tbh he's not English. I don't give a **** anyway England are ****e and if times are so bad they have to claim foreigners as nationals then crack on.
This is the worst but we have to live with it: The relevant current FIFA statute, Article 17: Acquisition of a new nationality, states:[SUP][/SUP] Any Player who ... [assumes] a new nationality and who has not played international football [in a match ... in an official competition of any category or any type of football for one Association] shall be eligible to play for the new representative team only if he fulfills one of the following conditions: (a) He was born on the territory of the relevant Association; (b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant Association; (c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant Association; (d) He has lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 on the territory of the relevant Association.
So, after residing in a country for 5 years, you may submit an applcation for citizenship, unless you're a rich investor on a tax dodge, in which case 5-10 minutes.
John Barnes, Raheem Sterling, Mo Farrah, Greg Rusedski, Lennox Lewis, Kevin Pietersen ffs it's nothing new
