What do you think the 'release clause' players like Mo, Dawson, Robertson, Hernandez, Livermore, Davies, Elmo etc will do if they are still playing well and the bottom-half EPL teams come sniffing in January? As I understand it we're pretty powerless if a bid comes in, so if the player wants to go straight back up, they could, but likely to a team that is running a risk of relegation that year. If we are still top 2, would that be enough of a carrot to keep them? Who would stick and who would twist?
As well as we're doing at the moment, who would get a premier league move to a team that isnt facing relegation? Dawson to someone like WBA perhaps? Is that it? If we're top 2 come the middle of Jan and a team in the bottom 3 comes in, I cant speak for the players but I'd stay.
I suppose it might swing on what money they're offered but on the other hand going out and actually winning games and getting praised must make them feel a lot better than going out expecting to get stuffed and slagged off every weekend.
January was an awful song sung in the 70's by a group called Pilot. January is not to be feared at all. Especially if you are a Hull City supporter.
Diame and Dawson would be the most likely for me. Think it would take a very attractive offer to tempt the latter though, seems happy enough.
Diame would need to play about 20 consecutive games for anyone to take a risk on him and it's unlikely at the mo. He'll be here come the end of January.
Perhaps, I just think a top flight team struggling for a bit of spark in midfield would see him as a very good option, but I hope you're right.
Don't see any of our players wanting to leave for another PL relegation team and battle. Robbie Brady(@ Norwich) has it all on to avoid the back-to-back PL relegation stigma.
I would expect Huddlestone to go ? Even Bruce can now see he offers nothing in midfield in this division & our upturn in results has coincided with him being dropped & Meyler replacing him. Without doubt he has a lot of skill but that's not what we need in the centre of the park when trying to battle our way out of this div. I can't remember the last time he scored a goal ? or seriously tested a keeper with a 25 yard screamer? We need goals from midfield this season & they will not be scored by him.
If Huddlestone does go it wont be until the summer when he can please himself. Now that wont please the few Hudds haters will it ?
