Lee Johnson touches on Bristol City's plan for the January transfer window By a_stockhausen Lee Johnson has confirmed Bristol City will be operating in the international market when the transfer window reopens in January. City's head coach began to plan his January business the minute the summer window closed at the end of August, since when he has scouted dozens of potential targets. He was on his travels again this week, flying out to Belfast to take in Northern Ireland's European Under-21 Championship fixture against France at Windsor Park. Having watched the French win 3-0, Johnson flew back to Bristol the following morning to prepare his team for tomorrow's Sky-televised Championship clash at Cardiff. Although he stopped short of revealing whether or not he was scouting a specific target across the Irish Sea, he confirmed his intention to pursue international-class players when the time comes to further bolster his squad. Johnson cut his managerial teeth at Oldham and Barnsley and he admitted: "My previous markets were in the lower leagues, the Conference and the Premier League Academies." But that has all changed since he took over at City and he confirmed: "We are now moving into international players and it is important I understand the levels they are playing at. "There are always players you look at, but it is just as important to gauge the levels of the various age groups, so you can then make better assessments." http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/lee-jo...nsfer-window/story-29806442-detail/story.html
Messi is impressed with the BCFC set up and would like to experience the feelin of getting promotion !
Not sure that Bryan is the answer at left back. In fairness to Little tonight thought he tried hard although is not the answer going forward.
At least he's telling us straight up that we will be an active player in January and won't be hiding behind the old doors at Ashton Gate. I think he's doing a good job and keeping his eyes open for unnoticed talent is a good way to go rather than dip in to the domestic market which normally goes bonkers and somewhat over the top when it comes to value for money.
Internationals eh ? Wonder what the budget is. If we are still around the top 10 come January, I imagine SL will want to speculate to make a run for the Prem. The second half of this season could be well exciting
