So only a few days to go before we get a belated Xmas pressie or two. Ricardo Queresma is a free agent and given that we could do with another winger he could be an interesting addition. The post are talking about a possible move for Lampard (wages could be an issue but he started here and might want to prove that he has the goods still). aspas looks off and the Villa rumours appear unfounded. Emnes has been linked for a few transfer windows, is he good enough? Who do you think we should sign? Any names being dropped around the corridors of power?
Im really excited on who we will get and im sure whoever they are will be the right players....laudrup knows what he is doing i sure...
Queresma seems to be a bit of a problem child. He's been criticised for selfishness and a reluctance to buy into the team ethic. Must have talent given his time at Porto, Barca, Inter and Chelsea on loan but I guess that Laudrup will want someone who can slot in as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
Good point Ivorall, maybe he isn't right mentally but his talent and position are perfect. still need a striker though, I hope ML has a gem hidden up his sleeve. spend £4m and get someone twice as good as Michu? ;-)
Apparently QPR are in for him. So that would be us out of the equation bearing in mind how much stupid money they are throwing around and also if QPR want him that probably means he is not good enough at the moment anyway. As for Emnes only a good Championship player. IMO. we will always be linked with him. But I am sure it was Rodgers sort of player and not ML. I am sure ML has a few up his sleeve and i cant wait to see who they are.
Well that's queresma out then. The reason I mention Emnes is that I have it from a source that we are still monitoring him since his loan spell. I don't think he is the player we need but I keep hearing it. I wonder if there are any Danish players on the radar?
Saw some heavy rumour that we are still interested in Jens Toornstra of Den Haag but the player himself said he'd heard nothing personally. I hope we pass on Emnes. He did fine for us but I think we have moved above and beyond such players.
I know I will probably get slautered for suggesting it, and not for the first time! but.....I still think Bentdner could do a good job for us. Wages could be an issue - but.....he's still young, proven in prem (not prolific, but will get goals), has hight and presence, is used to a similar style at Arsenal, and who knows what his fellow Dane - Mr Laudrup could get out of him! Bentdner up front, and Michu slotting behind winning the head ons, and the cross flying in from Pablo and Dyer - could be quite potent!
Bentdner's name has come up a few times so not too crazy a notion. Heard it could be a loan though rather than permanent deal. Also some Norway international Abdellauoe (not sure how to spell it) striker for about £3m, plays in Germany at the moment.
