Thoughts ?

Looks to me like Leadbitter will be SOLD at least, hopefully we get some sort of £££ for Priskin too.

Who do you think could arrive ?

Word on the grapevine is that Nick Barmby, Sol Campbell and David James are being lined up...

Personally I would like to see a young RB and possibly a keeper. I have nothing against ALB but Wright is coming to the end of his career and only having 2 keepers with experience is a bit of a worry. Again, keeping with the idea of building a squad if we could find an early 20's central defender that would be nice and a central midfielder with vision and passing ability (a Garvan type character) as a long term replacement for Bullard could be welcome.
The RB is a must though.

I long for a time when we have a settled squad which only requires minor tweaks now and again. Hopefully Jewell can bring in some young players on 3-4 year contracts so that we don't have to go through major overhauls of the squad each window.

Bit worried about the fact that Jewell is targetting loans again in this window, although it could be a good thing if we get someone like Gio in, Spurs have loads of talented youngsters who could be available now they've been knocked out of their reserve league (AKA Europa league).

Maybe Harry would or even did see a loan to us as punishment for all the supposed inappropriate nights out Gio was going on! One night in groove and Gio would never go clubbing again!

Wouldn't mind Livermore coming back to us, I always thought we never saw the best of him and he looked good in the Europa league, although obviously we need to get away from the reliance on loan players.

Arsenal, Everton, Wolves and Fulham are all preparing to make an offer to Millwall for Liam Trotter! £3 Million if the story is to be believed!

Nice one Keane!

I'm guessing that's from a tabloid or even the ever reliable transfer rumours website?

Keane did offer Trotter a new contract but he rightly decided to leave for his own benefit, our unstable club was no place for a young player to develop under Keane and it still isn't.

From what I've seen Trotter is playing at his level and I think he would struggle to make the step up, certainly not worth £3M.

Rumours, that seem likely, and justified that Rhodes is going to be off for a fee of close to £4,000,000.

This is all rumour control (though, like conspiracy theories, transfer rumours are always a great laugh), but I keep hearing it’ll be James Perch to “solve” our right back problem. I’d be underwhelmed if this is the case.

Also, I’ve been told by a bloke down the pub that Cresswell and Bullard will both be poached by Premier League clubs in January. Everton want Cressie, apparently.

We’ve also been linked to a Swindon player if my sources are to be believed (a bloke I’ve never heard of who knows my brother-in-law who I saw briefly on Boxing Day). Does anyone know anything about Matt Richie? 22 year old left midfielder.

Not only that, Scott Loach from Watford is doing the rounds. PJ & Clegg will have to do some serious selling of the club for a young keeper of that stature to move to us right now!

I've watched Matt Ritchie a couple of times and have been impressed with him <ok>

I can't see Cresswell leaving just yet as he has just signed a long contract, I think the fans would turn on Jewell big time if he left in the window. I've also heard of a £4.5 Million bid for Sharp and Coppinger! <laugh>

April fools day !?!?!?

Liam " cannot run " Trotter to Arsenal, for £3 mill !?!?!? Jesus christ. Your gonna be telling me Barca are linked with Garvan for £8 mill next !

Though I will admit I wanted Trotter to stay. He was better than what we had and certainly better than Leadbitter

I have to say, this transfer window will not be the one to solve our problems, I predict many disgruntled fans on here, just because midway through the season is not the time to bring a shed load of often over priced players in, we need to wait until the summer for that.

I think at the very least we need a RB and a CB.

Svendust I agree, it will be great when we reach a point, which is see as a long time away where we only need a couple of changes to the squad, this is going to have to happen a few times more as of yet. The last time this was the case, was when Keane took over, unfortunately he felt the need for wholesale changes!!! I'm not a fan of loan players or short term deals with bringing in older players but perhaps currently that is the situation we find ourselves in.

As for Trotter, that one doesn't bug me in the slightest, I always thought he was a bit of a donkey and doubt he could ever make it in the premierleague.

It also depends on who goes out. With any luck (and decent decision making from our brave and gallant leaders) Leadbitter and Priskin at the very least will go - bringing in at least SOME transfer money (as opposed to none come the end of the season) and freeing up some of the wage budget.

If anyone wants to offer two pounds fifty for some of our other idle deadbeats we should take their hands off.

oh, and while i'm spreading the festive joy, i think you will all be rather underwhelmed if you sign scott loach - he is possibly the most overrated goalkeeper in england today, though frankie fielding is a contender.

happy new year! <cheers>

I didn’t know there was a fish called a “loach” so I googled it and it turns out there’s a fish called a “clown loach”.

I don’t like the sound of this.
