Regarding Costa staying put in Madrid after being offered more money... now labeled as "only after money."

How does that compare to Gerrard ready to transfer to Chelsea... until we offered him an improved contract?

Why is Gerrard a loyal servant of the club but Costa a mercenary for doing the same thing?

I suspect in all transfers there is a wide range of motivations... be it Gerrard, Costa, or anyone else.

I'm sure Salah could look at Chelsea and see a better chance of silverware for example.

I, for one, don't blame them for going after money either. You get a 10-15 year career in which to make as much as possible to support you for the rest of your life.

Don't know about you guys but I'd want to be rich always... not just whilst at the peak of my career.

Now... it can be taken too far... somethings you don't do... Owen.

Well said.

I don't have a problem for players wanting to move for money. I'm sure a lot of us would.

And also, there is a common misconception that players who move for money won't give their all for the club. I think is wrong - look at Man City, Chelsea etc and you will find top class players, getting paid sh*t loads but still acting professional and putting in the effort.

I never said Costa is a mercenary, I said you cant blame him for staying

CL, challenging for the league, nice weather (he's Barzilian isnt he?)

Salah was probably our number one target as it was felt that he had comparable ability to Kono and could be signed for less. Dnipro are owned by some rich Ukrainian guy so aren't hurting for cash, therefore can afford to demand more for Kono. I'm inclined to believe that we did raise our offer for Salah when Chelsea came in but at that point he'd decided to go there. That would explain why Rodger's refused to give up on Salah even after Chelsea's bid was accepted and a verbal agreement in place.

I dont mate but it is certainly not the lure it was imo

Our history isnt enough now is the reality, we need to be seen as a team on the up and going places which I think we're under BR <ok>

Dont worry we dont need him, Gerrard can play there

Why did he do so bad V Villa but so well there V Everton?

Is it beacue he got more support from other 2 mids?

I noticed City lined up with Fernandinhio and Toure in the middle of mid last night, they seem to manage with just 2 in the middle

we played totally different game v everton. suarez defended left wing and sterling right it was 4-5-1. coutinho also got a bit of coaching on where to go and what to do.

v villa we turned up cocky as f and got chased off the park.

Citeh play one holding in fernandiho and yaya does what he wants.. they are all big tall rangy power players too.

Just in,any latest on 'The Plank'?

Nothing new, lots of stuff being posted more than once. Different sources came quotes

The player said something along the lines of "Lfc excites him" on twitter or something
