Not very long now - we host Derby / QPR / travel to Brighton then bye bye 2015 - hello a month of possible transfer activity.

The only realistic signing I can see coming in is another striker as we surely cannot rely on McGoldrick to be part of a fit front line, and with Sears/ Murphy/ Pitman invariably starting / often playing 90 they could get knackered/ run the risk of injury too.

Varney will be signed, that's the strikers sorted out.
Can't see Mick being too busy on the transfer front if we continue as we are.
A few to leave, none to come in except Varney.

A proper right back with pace would do for starters.

    Yeah, there's always that.
Wouldn't say no to an upgrade in that department.

I doubt there will be any activity, aside from Varney ( is he quality enough for us now?). We can continue to dream for a new RB! We know MM's style and and ME's purse!

Agreed regarding more support in the full back departments. A quick right-back would be ideal and I think it would be encouraging if we bought in cover for Knudsen, when injuries/loss of form kick in. Varney looks a likely addition, cheap and convenient, which is good. Nonetheless, I'm not a massive fan of the player and I think we could do a lot better as he doesn't represent an improvement on any of our strikers/wide players.

I think the goalkeeping situation has temporarily sorted itself out. Gerken has put in some good games recently and Bart is a more than adequate back-up. I was concerned with a lack of creativity in midfield, but Bru, Bishop, and, somewhat surprisingly, Douglas are in the squad and offer some imagination.

We have a small squad, so getting rid of players might be a little risky. I'd argue that if we can get McGoldrick, Tabb, and Parr off the wage bill, then we should move them out, but only on the condition we replace them.

Varney's not supposed to be an improvement on what we've got Nuggets, just a back up.

Varney was a major success story of last season.

On the right wing, he was decent! As soon as he went off in the home leg vs Norwich things went wrong ( play offs ) he was playing well. In our 1-0 away win vs Watford he was easily our best player until subbed.

With McGoldrick made of glass at least we have another forward option which is a relief - deceptively quick and excellent in the air for crossfield balls - I wouldn't be surprised to see him feature quite often RM. Especially away.
