Certain players , have been touted by the media towards Liverpool, I think most of which is total and utter rubbish.Such as Coloccini,Huddlestone,( if not good enough for spurs, not good enough for us)Chivu,Rodallega This sort of player is no better better than the players we have at the moment, even someone like Cahill at Bolton, isnt any better than what we have I would rather us buy NOBODY in January than spend money on players who dont improve us.I think the only player in the prem, who may be available who would improve us I can think of, is Hoillett at Blackburn, who looks quite a classy player In other words if we cant get a Navas,Hazard,Goetze,Higuain,Sissokho,M'Vila,Martinez,Marin, Honda.A Top class young player ,dont sign anyone. No more mediocre players please Kenny
January is not the best time to make huge signings.... They rarely go well (in fact off the top of my head, Suarez is the only good one I can think of)
Keisuke Honda would be an excellent signing, and the russian league finishes that time of year, can play every position in front 6, we have just got get Kenny to realise footballers exist outside the premier league
January is only a good transfer window in FIFA, in real life we get held to ransom, ie Carroll. Don't dismiss your point though, I'd love us to strengthen too and new additions should be of the standard to compliment suarez rather than rely on him.
I don't think that we will buy in this coming window. However I do agree with the general thought - if the player is not top class don't bother. If Honda was available I'd certainly be tempted.
Yea!!! I do not trust KK with any money right now. he would just spend it on some british non-performers.
january is an opportunity nothing more or less. If the right player for the right fee is available we can move for them as we don't have any worries about europe do we? arbeloa, skertl and mascherano as well as suarez all show what january can do for us. But the OP is right buy the right player not any player. naija is just a wum.... never heard of comolli eh?
I reckon we make a move for that Chelsea lad Torres. He obviously isn't happy down there, you can see it in his body language and in the fact he snatches at chances missing simple tap ins. If we put a cheeky £7M bid in I reckon we could get him and he could be a good backup for Bellamy?
We have a pretty decent record with January signings I thought. With players like Agger, Suarez, Mascherano, Skrtel, Maxi coming in the last couple of years. I'd love us to change our whole formation, to a 4-2-3-1, like we did in the second half of last season, and sign a goalscoring left winger like Podolski or someone with that ability of being a 1 goal every 2 games winger.
What we need is a "Goalscoringsuperstarhero" SWOS anyone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNyU4xc-G6Y And every goal, goal, goal says your the best in the land!!!
Yeah, I know, that was in Belgium though to be fair, Podolski has a 1 in 2 record with Cologne in the Bundesliga and Germany. He didn't do great at Germany but that could be attributed to the fact he was young at the time. You've got to look at the fact that he's still only 26, and has 93 caps for Germany and 43 goals, not bad at all really,
I don't think we need to change our formation - at the end of the day, we've been creating loads of chances and not giving away too many shots at our goal. Just silly mistakes and poor finishing has cost us. Good performances but poor results. Over the long run, we'll get what we deserve but we need to start finishing a lot better.
See i would not mind if we did sign anyone in Jan but like mentioned our owners will want to see what happens with the current players we have + the high prices for players, unless a quality at a good price comes.Best leave it till the Summer
It depends on where we are, are we in the top 4 and hitting form? Are we just outside and need that extra something to push us into the top 4? Or are we 6pts+ off and need to do something drastic? Will wait until January to see, a lot could happen so here is to hoping we don't need to!
