After going through our squad and thinking about it then reviewing it i actually take back what i said a few weeks ago that i thought we needed extra midfield creativity and another striker because we actually don't. Heres what i think we need and why
A centre back so we have back-up for luiz and terry ( godin/rolando )
A right back so we have back-up for brana ( van der wiel )
I don't think we actually need anyone else, i'd say in my opinion from january this would be our best team and line-up imo.
    4-1-2-1-2
    GK - Cech
    RB - Ivanovic
    CB - Terry
    CB - Luiz
    LB - Cole
    Holding Midfielder/DM - Romeu
    RM/LM - Ramires
    LM/RM - Joshy M
    CAM - Mata
    LS - Torres
    RS - Sturridge

    Back-up for Brana = Van der wiel, Back-up for Terry/Luiz = Godin/Rolando, Back-up for cole = bertrand, back-up for josh/ramires = lampard & meireles, back up for mata=Piazon,back up for Sturridge/Torres = Lukaku/Lalkovic

That on paper doesn't look half bad to me, it would give us pace and creativity, allowing us to use matas skills to our best advantage as he would be able to run everything and give sturridge and torres the balls they need and torres and sturridges pace and creativity could rip defences to shred. It gives us balance in midfield as Josh can provide a great pass and is fast, Rambo is very fast and can strike the ball well, score goals, Romeu can pick the perfect pass after pass.
The back-up would all be perfect aswell as Piazon,Lukaku and Lalkovic are getting experience in the reserves of playing with each other every game and all three will know each others games. Lampards a great super-sub to have along with Meireles as they can both slow down the play if we need it and can both score goals.
To have our bench we obviously need to cut the **** out and that means - Bosingwa,Mikel,Malouda,Kalou can all go, along with Anelka and Alex who are off in January and Drogba will have to leave aswell ( His not part of the ****, quality player when he wants to be but if we want to seriously change the team we've gotta let go ).

That's my vision anyway, if we can get rid of all of the players i've named above we might get about 30million ( highly doubt it ) and then if we add £10million we'd have the only two players we really need.

Strikers - IN Neymar (Santos, £40m), OUT Drogba, Anelka

Midfield - IN Muller (Bayern Munich, £25m), DEVELOP McEachran, OUT Mikel, Malouda, Essien

Defence - IN RB, OUT Bosingwa, Alex

GK - None (Monitor Courtois's loan progress)

    ---

http://tinyurl.com/d7ba3l7 Honestly cannot believe that no-one hasn't mentioned him, fits our criteria: young, pacy, full fledged german international (world cup golden boot to his name), plays all over midfield or up front, it is my belief that these 2 players, Neymar and Muller, will replace Drogba, Kalou, Malouda and Anelka...

    Thoughts?

To be honest I don't think you should sell anyone. Just add a creative midfielder and get the players singing to one hym and youll be back competing on all fronts again. Don't underestimate your squad, in my opinion it's second only to the City squad. AVB just needs to make his mind up on his starting 11.

Well said mate, i honestly think we have the players and youth we just need a change of formation and a right back and centre back. 4-3-3 use to be the best formation in my opinion but were losing width and pace with it and holding back mata because mata should be behind the two strikers so he can play in killer passes and balls because he has the vision to do that, his still quality on the left but he'd be so much better behind two strikers

I agree mate, Muller and Neymar are both class, especially Muller the guy is unbelievable, can score, assist, has pace etc and reminds me of a young ballack. Where would you fit him in though and what system?

Muller is quality, would be a great signing. Neymar is never going to happen though, I'd put my house on it. When he decides to leave Brazil he will have the pick of clubs to choose from and he isn't going to pick us over the like of Madrid.

I wonder if in the summer it might be worth looking at the likes of Nasri and Ozil who have struggled a little at their respective clubs this year but are top class and might be open to a move.

And I'll keep banging the Hulk drum who I think would be electric in the P.L and only 25.
