We've managed to turn around the horrible start to season to climb into 4th and hopefully might be able to stay there by the time the January transfer window opens.

We've only really been unlucky with full back injuries and been able to play RVP and a fairly consistent midfield.

But we clearly lack any depth to our squad and I'm extremley concerned by Wenger's comments regarding any additions in January.

Jack wil hopefully be back which is "like a new player" but we all know these long term injuries can take much longer than expected

Gervinhio is off to the African Cup of Nations (possibly Frimpong might get called up for Ghana??)

Even if RVP stays fit he'll need to be rested and the back ups are unbelievable bad

Ramsey and Arteta are playing better but still aren't the class we need. There needs to be a top, top creative midfielder added to the team. Götze seems an unlikely purchase

Wenger must see that players like Chamakh, Arshavin, Park aren't good enough and it's unfair to through in the youngsters yet. History has shown that Wenger will go into the transfer market when needed and it's worked (Arshavin, Reyes, Adebayor, etc)

Failure for Wenger to do so this time will erase any hope of top 4 which is the minimum required from our season!!

I think it depends what players are available. It is always difficult to find attacking and midfield players in January because they need to settle into the team. There have been very very few A-List layers for sale lately and none at a bargain price. I just don't think we can afford 40M on a backup player. Saying we need someone badly really makes it sound like there are a lot of top-class creative midfielders better than the ones we have got. I just don't see who they are.

    Firstly we need another forward.

Chamakh and Gervinho are off to the ACON.

Chamakh will no doubt be leaving us in the Summer as will Arshavin, Benayoun and possible Rosicky?

So either a creative forward player like hazard or a good alrounder like Podolski (who can also play down the middle).

We have Joel campbell who will be joining us but we have no way of knowing wether he'll be granted a work permit of not next summer.

I would also like to see another attacking midfielder join our ranks preferably Goetze or even Gourcuff.

I think a striker is top priority, it's a tall order to find one of top quality, who wants to come and probably spend most of his time on the bench. I think that Anelka or Henry would have been ideal, in the twilight of their careers but still know how to put it in the back of the net.

Don't know about Suker, but Henry and Beckham are playing pretty much the same these days, from what I have seen of the MLS. I don't think either could still make it in the premiership.

Why do people say we can only have one striker playing ? We have 3 playing, Walcott and Gervinho are strikers. There is no reason we couldn't get another striker and play him WITH RVP.

People also keep saying we play 4-3-3, well thats the bloody problem, sometimes we should play a different formation not the same thing all the time.
