Haven't noticed a thread put up by anybody yet, so here goes.................. First up............. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/efl-club-lining-up-move-for-cardiff-city-man/
Good man Sparks. Let's hope we have lots of positive news to report. I wouldn't bet on it though. Good move for all parties. Other than the disastrous first game v Wigan last season when he came on for Etheridge, Day has done nothing wrong and was unlucky to find himself behind 2 good keepers all the time. This also allows our good young keeper, who's name escapes me, to be our no. 3 choice and be on the bench, at least in our cup game. I say game as I don't expect us to be in the 4th round draw.
I would imagine any incomings will largely depend on lowering the wage bill with outgoings first. A good chance that we'll be waiting until the end of the window for fresh, loan faces if any are available by then.
Well not quite, but we have a damned good record. Forest Won 15 Draws 11 Cardiff Won 31 However in the FA Cup we have only ever played them twice, winning one and losing one; 1922 we won 4-1 1928 we lost 1-2;
Just checked Transfermarket,com and there is still a dearth of Right Backs, other than the ones we have spoken about before e.g Simon Francis ex Bournemouth and I see Jazz Richards is still without a club
Not always then. I went there three times 10/12 years ago. Beat them 1.0 in 2008, McCormack penalty, then drew 0.0 and lost 2.1. Ernie scored against us.
Francis is 35, past it and injury prone at Cherries. There are good reasons why Jazz rarely played for us in previous 2 years - also injury prone and, if he still had it, would have signed for someone else. I believe he has been training with Swans youngsters but no chance of Swans signing him. We should be more creative and be looking at Div 1 players who want to prove themselves at a higher level or another Prem loaner.
Weren't we linked with a right back / wing back at Exeter last year? I think I recall the guy having a brilliant couple of games in their FA Cup run. Very good going forwards.
Josh Key I'm guessing. He's their regular rb. 21 years old, contract up this summer. Transfermarket est. value £2m but likely to drop with only 6 months on his contract. I have to say I've seen nothing on this.
Will Tan trust Harris with any money? More to the point is Harris able to ascertain what players are worth enquiring about? He didn’t change CM over the summer which was crying out for fresher and more creative players so he must think Pack, Ralls & Vaulks are good enough which they’re plainly not. More than anything I want to see that part of the team completely stripped out and replaced. (I didn’t mention Bacuna there as he’s not been available most of this season)
Just had a look to try remind myself, think it was Randell Williams I was thinking of. Down as midfield on their website but I'm sure he was playing more as a wingback when I've watched them.
Tom Sang recalled.......... https://www.gloucestershirelive.co....ardiff-citys-former-manchester-united-4853899
Aden Flint also back as Wendies loan cut short.......... https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/aden-flint-sheffield-wednesday-cardiff-19561137
Been playing midfield this season and has scored 3 times. Got Player and Goal of the Season at Exeter last season so has something about him.
The 2 returns won't help the wage bill. Sang not so much but Flint is on big bucks. Sang might bring something different but if he played only a few times at Cheltenham it indicates he might not be up to the mark in the Championship. Perhaps another loan out is on the cards? Flint won't be fit for a while so won't be an attractive loan out in the window.
Sang will be a cheap option - that'll probably suit City at the moment. As a City player, Flint will be insured against injury incapacity - not sure if that insurance covers uselessness though........ (Sorry Flinty. )
The locals here in glossershire thought Sang should have got more games than he did. All this recalling of loans smacks a bit of desperation to me.
