They do say there's no smoke without fire, and finally it looks inevitable that Jansson will be on his way!

Below shows the top 20 central defenders in the Championship, with Jansson ranked 10, and Cooper 16th.

Which players on the list would you swap for Jansson?

Do you agree with the pricing?

Now we know why Berra isn't going to Italy.

Wonder if Struijk will get his chance over White, or simply be cover?

Hearing that the Polish Arsenal want away player who was out on loan last season could be an option?

Can flint play ball? I know he's a unit, and we could do with someone like that.

    Webster for me <ok>

Perhaps pontus would have a higher rating if he was not injured so much.

Compared with the rest of the squad, Janssons injuries weren't that bad!

Good question. The short answer is yes, but that's with the u23s. Against a 15st 32yo bruiser - no-one has any idea. In terms of style of play, I'd compare him to a young Ferdinand. That leaves him with a lot to live up to, hence I must emphasise the word 'young'. :)

To help reassure you, let me remind you of a story I told on here. Think it might been the season before last. I was watching the u23s & got talking to the guys around me, not knowing that they were actually scouts. I picked out 2 players as being miles ahead of anyone else on the field - Pearce (if I remember correctly) & Struijk. They agreed! The Manc guy said he'd happily sign Struijk. Pearce he personally would, but for some reason he wouldn't, as he didn't 'fit in' to what Manc expected (whatever that means). The Spuds guy would have signed both. Let's just say that he's not got any worse since then. In actual fact, he's come on leaps & bounds & is much, much better, mostly on the mental & consistency aspects. They've also stopped playing him as LB too, which I guess means he's completed that part of his development.

Can't wait for the pre-season games to see how he fares. I'd be so happy for him if he forced the Brighton loaner onto the bench. :)

WJ is correct and we first saw him play for Ajax because of a scout who spoke to Orta about him, the same defensive scout who identified Aapo Halme later. Orta went to see him and immediately started to see if we could get him. You dont play for Ajax unless you are special

This lad confirms Jansson leaving, but to Brentford!

From the way this lad is talking, and I like Jansson, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had a hand in Saiz leaving.
