More importantly, who is going to play the poster on here who continuously slated him last season? Can anyone remember who it was?
Erm, it was a poster on here who continually slated him. I don't remember who says anything on here unless it a) annoys me or b) is Carmine.
cant believe they are making a movie of this, before anybody has of the greatest captain to lead a side through all 4 divisions. miles better story.
... you will have to remind me I'm afraid ... did he also set an all time Premier League scoring record too? Joking apart ... Vardy's rise is a phenomenal 'underdog' story by any measure ... but if we don't hold on and win the title then I wonder whether there will be any real appetite for a film? ... if we do mind ... God I hope there is a film!
I thought precisely the same. I love it when people talk about 'all time' premier League records for something that has existed since 1992. Whereas we're talking about the first person in the history of football to do something.
... who? ... and I'm not trying to be funny ... although I think it probably proves a point ... who outside of Hull will really know who it is? ... whereas Vardy is now known (if not famous) around the globe ... and therefore more appealing to film makers ... I take your point about the EPL btw .. it was a real shame he couldn't have notched one more and equalled the all time football scoring record ...
Ian Ashbee was the first player in history to captain a team through all four divisions and he did so despite having a degenerative bone disease that not only threatened his career, but his ability to walk.
Ian Ashbee, the first ever footballer to captain a side during promotions from the bottom division to the top. And the fact you're saying 'who?' says everything, he should be a household name.
.. thanks for confirming ... and I wouldn't disagree ... but I would have had to have gone and looked it up, I confess...
Unfortunately Fosse is right. As much as we adore and idolise Ashbee for what he did for us, there would never be a movie made of any commercial success.
Piers Morgan knows who he is and he's a know nowt ****wit. If he knows then no excuse for you not knowing.
