"I think Hull will be disappointed with the number of players they've got in so far this summer" Hmmm... discuss? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/18932/8870318/jamie-redknapps-premier-league-ones-to-watch
Redknapp obviously been having a few out of his old mans drinks cabinet. We have done excellent, strengthened all areas and spent a small amount compared to other teams.
Started to read that earlier, was written after the Huddlestone signing so we were evidently still disappointed after that! Never bothered reading further.
I thought most of us were pretty happy with the number of players we have brought in so far. Boyd out most important player? Dude is an idiot.
That Huddlestone bit was banged on since yesterday afternoon. But the whole thing is a load of crap, he knows nothing about us & although Boyd is a decent player, he doesn't have what I would class as pace. It would have been better to just leave it as that than put that TH is a lovely footballer.
The thing I can't work out is that he doesn't say we're going to be upset with who we've signed, but with how many. You really want a squad of 23 first team players as a minimum (2 for each position plus a 3rd keeper), we've currently got 24, so does he think we wanted more or less? I know we've got McLean and Stewart sat there bulking it up, but we knew they were free to leave anyway, and Cairney being out on loan until January is ideal so long as he plays for Blackburn. He wasn't going to be in our team so would have just been running down his contract sat in the stands, at least this way he can go out and try and show Bruce why he should be given a chance in the team then come back in January to play a part (if he has shown it).
He's the weakest pundit sky have but likey has a job for life there in his role of getting rid of Richard Keys and Andy Gray, which Richard Keys keeps suggesting on his twitter.
I have always liked Jamie Redknapp. I thought he usually talked a lot of sense. But I can't understand his Boyd comment. I was excited when Boyd came in but he faded after a few games and will only be on the fringes of the team unless he shows a big improvement - which may well happen. I would have liked to have got in a really good striker but that may have been difficult. Now we have a much better squad it may be easier to attract somebody like that but whether we get a great striker now is less important. The rest of the team is looking good.
I've always had the impression that when Redknapp is on Sky along with Graham Souness that Souness seems permanently irritated with Reknapp's comments.
Gary Neville - Charlie Nicholas - Chris Kamara - Peter Beagrie - Jamie Carragher are very good. The rest are rubbish. imo.
He has West Ham 8th. Says it all. We will not finish 20th. The media just can't admit to putting a London team at the bottom, can they?
