Time for a bit of pointless transfers that are never going to happen talk.

Just saw Jamie O'Hara playing for Wolves on MOTD, seeing him this week and last week v West Brom, as well as his performances on loan at Pompey - do you think he could be a long term replacement for Nolan? Younger, quicker and a goal scoring midfielder.

He's one who I would have loved to have seen us sign for the last two or so seasons, certainly a wasted talent at Spuds!

Was just thinking about creating this thread myself.

Wasn't he linked with us in the summer? He could be worth looking at again this summer especially if Wolves go down.

Yeah, I seem to remember being linked with him. He's only 25 and wouldn't cost a great deal as he's likely to be one of the squad players that Spurs ship out in summer.

It depends on our ambition. If we want to be a regular top 8 side and have decent cup runs then we need that kind of depth. I'd say Tiote, Nolan and Gosling (when fit) are the three main CM men. Barton IMO should stay on the right where he has been awesome. Smith will probably go. And I'd rather have O'Hara as another midfield option over Guthrie.

Is he better than Tiote? Certainly not.

Is he better than Gosling? Time will tell but I wouldnt think so.

Probably better than Guthrie and Vuckic at this moment in time but I would rather we develop our own players and we have plenty of them in his position. Good player though!

This. Would rather see Vuckic given a go.

I think we definitely missed a trick with Sturridge.

Wouldn't say no if cheap. Midfield options in the summer depend entirely on how well Ireland performs once he's fully fit. I'd sell Smithy, and would play O'Hara over Guthrie definitely. Time will tell how well Gosling plays.

It's a tricky one. Judging by the amount of midfielders we do have, I'd say no. But I think it's entirely dependent on how those we haven't really seen well yet perform. Difficult when we haven't really seen Gosling or Ireland in action.

Definitely. Should've got him on loan with option to buy most definitely! Gutted we didn't go for him.
We'll struggle to get him in the summer now, think Chelsea will want to hang on to him.
