On the OS Jamie says that his time at City was the best in his career and he will remain a fan, stay in Bristol and play 'locally'. Nice words from a faithful servant. He didn't set the world on fire but did a job without complaining. Good luck to him. By 'playing for a local team' he surely can't mean the Gas - he must mean Swindon(?)
That's nice to hear he enjoyed his time with the City, a ex player I bumped into a few weeks a go was Glenn Pennyfather, who said he loved his time playing for the City and wanted us to know that!
Don't think we could rule out a move for McAllister to Yeovil. Not the best LB we've seen at AG but no player gave more to the 'cause' than McAllister. He will leave with my best wishes.
Yep, thought he got a lot of mainly undeserved criticism. He was under-rated by and large. Good luck Jamie, a player who did want to play for the red shirt..
Always nice to hear that both the club and the city itself made a lasting impact on the lad. He was always a player who appeared to give his all and on his day was an extremely competent full back. Would be a good signing for any of the 3 local teams. Good luck to you Jamie on both the football and the family fronts.
I think going to Yeovil with GJ is the most likely. Great servant to our club - 6 seasons and 200+ appearances Never threw his toys either when not in the side Has left with dignity A good man
Nice to see his comments even though he has no future at the club. Obviously doesn't mind his kids growing up with Bristol accents!! Perhaps same sort of humility from one overrated highly paid striker would have endeared him to the fans a little more. JM will at least be more than welcome at the gate (as far as I'm concerned)
My wife is gutted he's leaving she does have a thing for him. I suggested swapping wife's with him and she was well up for it But JM has conducted himself in a true manner, and what he has said after is a tribute to the club and City, if he ever visits the club with another team, he will have a lot of fans applauding him. Good luck for the future Jamie
A 100% good pro who always gave everything he could for City. He is a credit to his profession and I send my good wishes to him and his family. Thanks Jamie.
I don't think there are any of us who would not wish Jamie the best of luck for his future. Should he ever have the opportunity to play at AG for another team I know the reception for a returning player would be of a very high order and respect. Thank you Jamie for your professionalism and dedication to our shirt and you are a credit to yourself and any team you play for in the future. Good luck man.
Yes good luck to Jamie wherever he goes, really was a great servant to Bristol City, thanks a million mate............wish little all LJ had had the same kind comments said about him though, for he deserved it !!!
Respect man, for the sublime free kick you stuck in against The Palace And for the 6 years of sweat to keep us in the game.....
Would like to add to this thread. I was lucky enough to meet, spend a little time and have a chat about things with Jamie yesterday, what a fantastic bloke. I can tell you he really genuinely loved playing for Bristol City and he loves Bristol as a City, wants to stay around and play locally but I can see he still has that passion and determination that will require him to play at the highest level he can. I have the utmost respect for him even more so now, especially after reading some of the nonsense about him spouted on various forums. We will do well to replace Jamie Mac with a player with half as much desire for the shirt this guy had..
He's been a great servant for the club, and as such I don't even think I'd mind him signing for the Gas if it means improving the blue few and bringing Bristol derby's back to the better end of the football league. The man loves Bristol and as such he should have the fans support regardless of where he decides to go. I think he'll end up at Yeovil, but don't necessarily rule out a move to the Gas, and don't slate him if he decides that it's the best direction for his career to go.
He could even end up at Cheltenham or Swindon? Funny that we all say Rovers or Yeovil, but either of Swindon or Cheltenham is easy routes from Bristol less than 45 mins away
